A Little Fish in the Kitchen: May 2014
http://www.alittlefishinthekitchen.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 23, 2014. Bandanna Style Cookies. For a Homesick Texan. Well, I won't keep you all waiting any longer. Here is the finished product from Tuesday's cookie post! I really enjoyed decorating these little beauties. It's also significant because we were married on the Texas coast. if you don't know me personally, then you don't know that I got married on May 4! As I mentioned in the previous, brief post, lots have changed since my last blog update over a year ago. And they are all good changes.
A Little Fish in the Kitchen: January 2013
http://www.alittlefishinthekitchen.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 17, 2013. Crostini with White Beans, Olives and Anchovy. I first saw this recipe presented on Gordon Ramsay's television show, "Ultimate Cookery Course", which is airing on BBC America lately. The pictures and ingredients of this recipe spoke to me instantly. I mean, I love hearty white beans, black olives, parsley, and, in small quantities, anchovies too. Although, I'm not sure I would have ever put them all together on my own. Crostini with White Beans, Olives and Anchovy. 2 Add in th...

Ive been watching my calorie intake and exercising bunches. On days when the weathers been pleasant, Ive been getting out for long walks and jogs. I even busted out the Zumba dvd set thats been collecting dust on my bookshelf since last June and did a little salsa dancing! Marcelle @ A Little Fish in the Kitchen. Saturday, January 31, 2015. These pics were snapped with my phone, so yes, not as clear as with my Sony! I found out a couple of weeks ago that the principal at my sons elementary school would be retiring. She sent a brief letter out to the school community announcing her retirement and that she hoped, after over 10 years of service as an administrator, she could travel and spend more time with her grandchildren. Marcelle @ A Little Fish in the Kitchen. Friday, January 23, 2015. My husband will follow a...

Saturday, October 27, 2012. My Kitchen Has Been In Boxes.Again. Yes, I even borrowed this pic.lazy blogger. Okay, allow me to apologize for not having been back on for a while.I do have mostly good reasons .mostly. Good reason #1 for not blogging lately. Good reason #2 for not blogging lately. I believe I've mentioned that I am pregnant, but have I mentioned that I am now 8 and a half months along and particularly whiny? Bad reason #1 for not blogging lately. March 27, 2017. March 20th was the official start of Spring this year, and what better way to celebrate than by whipping up some citrus treats! Key Limes vs. Regular Limes. Image from gastrochef.org. Cocoa and Lavender: ¡Tequila!
http://cocoaandlavender.blogspot.com/2015/04/tequila.html
Before moving to Tucson, we didn't know much about tequila. All we knew were the here-say of "shots" and bad margaritas. That was in New England, home to bogus. Restaurants, where frijoles in any form meant nothing but New England Baked Beans! Just before moving here, Markipedia joined many amicipediae at the annual Vernacular Architecture Forum which happened to be in Tucson that year. It is a conference of architecture and anthropology nerds. What could be more fun? Aged a minimum of one year, but less...

Hazelnut Chocolate Heaven - or - A Torta Grows Up. This is a recipe that I have been tinkering with for a while now, and I am pretty happy with how it has come out. Happy enough to share it! Recipe evolution is a lot faster than human evolution (I even question whether or not some humans have evolved at all.). I love the creative process - it's like science. Had my high school science experiments resulted in cake, I might have been been the next Einstein. It all started with a simple nut cake - or torta.

What Shall We Make? About a week before Thanksgiving, someone invariably comes to me in a panic. Were having Vegetarians for dinner! My first thought is always the childish one: Really? How will you prepare them? Posted by Cocoa and Lavender. Links to this post. Beauty and the {French} Bistro: A Cookbook Review. Fit for a King. or Three. I am sorry, NOLA, but I was so disappointed when I saw what New Orleanians call a King Cake (or Kings Cake, or King. S Cake). My first thought: it was a perfectly nice yeast bread hopped up on sugar and decorated by a kindergarten Jackson Pollock. Posted by Cocoa and Lavender. Links to this post. Just another WordPress.com site. May 8, 2014. I found it on our family vacation on that long ride to Florida. Everyone was plugged in, including me. I’d run out of interest in my games on the iPad, so I decided to look through my “notes”. Look what I found in the note entitled “Brian and Tracy’s Bucket List”:. Hot Air Balloon Ride (Ha ha, I always say I’m going to do this. Probably never will…). Write a Children’s Book (Hey! Own a Minivan (What? I wrote that down? Lord, thank You for my van! Change without the e. The Line of Marriage. Is found between the Line of Heart. And the base of the fourth finger. When found straight and clear it promises a happy marriage, or union. ( Plate 1. When this line curves downwards towards the palm, it foretells the death of the marriage partner. ( Plate 2. A little fish in the sea…. Goin’ bananas…. Goin’ bananas…. September 14, 2016. September 14, 2016. A Little Fitness
Thursday, April 23, 2009. Good form vs. Injury. It goes without saying that every exercise should be done with good form. Why then are people risking injury by continually exercising with poor form? During metabolic circuits the demand for good form is even greater. Here, by pushing yourself beyond what you are currently capable of you risk not only acute injury but also overuse injuries to surrounding muscles. Take home tip: Stop your set as soon as your form deteriorates. Links to this post. Do you spe...

The best thing about the market is that it&...
