Birding Across the World: March 2009
http://birdingacrosstheglobe.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Birding Across the World. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. First day in Panama. My mom and I arrived in Panama last night with a mostly uneventful flight, only having a 30m delay in leaving Miami. As we stepped off the plane we were hit by a gust of warm hot air: welcome to Central America. As of 10am this morning the temperature was already over 85 and rising. . After all that was all gotten out of the way, and we were finally together, all was good. . Take it easy, . Sunday, March 15, 2009. After those thrilli...

Birding Across the World: Alaskan wrap-up
http://birdingacrosstheglobe.blogspot.com/2012/10/alaskan-wrap-up.html
Birding Across the World. Friday, October 26, 2012. Shot of camp again - the photos in this post consist of some of my favorites of the season. The nature up there was out of this world, both at the Canning and then in our post-trip to the Kenai Peninsula. We only had 70 or so species of bird at the field site on the North Slope, but some of them that I talked about above, such as Spectacled Eider or Buff-breasted Sandpiper, are truly special. I can see why you would want to head back up there again.

Birding Across the World: January 2013
http://birdingacrosstheglobe.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Birding Across the World. Monday, January 21, 2013. Mexico - Yucatán through Calakmul 12/31/12 - 1/1/13. Another nice feature here is that the structures aren't roped off, unlike many of the other archeological sites in the region, so you're able to climb to the top and look across the unbroken jungle stretching in all directions. Panorama from the top of the pyramid - click to enlarge. We arrived at dusk on the 31. Ruddy Woodcreeper, an antswarm feature. Back on the road we quickly refueled with some de...

http://whereareamyandiannow.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 27, 2013. Just a few of the beaches I've been lucky enough to spend time on this summer. I used the theme 'beaches' as our assignment for an iPhone group that meets once a month or so, we had some creative entries. Beaches are one of my favorite places, especially when it's not windy! Early morning walk with Christy and Rita on White Horse Beach. iPhone. Boy skipping rocks on a beach on Cape Cod. One of our photo workshops this summer. Scarborough, Maine. Next 2 images as well. Scrappin...

Cameras for Kids in Ecuador: We're in Mindo, Ecuador!
http://camerasforkidsinecuador.blogspot.com/2010/12/were-in-mindo-ecuador.html
Thursday, December 30, 2010. We're in Mindo, Ecuador! Joe took this photo of me and children of Salem yesterday on our photo walk, lots of fun! Cristian took some good photos with 'his' camera, but needs a larger memory card, at 16MB he had to keep erasing images. I have to work on that :-). Taken by Jose, the cameras and money you donated have given lots of pleasure to these children. Cristian and Maria helping each other out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Birding Across the World: September 2012
http://birdingacrosstheglobe.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Birding Across the World. Sunday, September 30, 2012. June 22 - banding. Light clouds over camp at 10pm. Not too much today on this first day of summer, went out banding/searching with Scott for the daily work. Mostly today was just one of those days, luckily rare, where nothing goes right. I accidentally deleted a photo on my camera I wanted to keep, only found one nest, and was repeatedly stymied by difficult birds. May as well be the solstice again today, since it is 24 hour daylight again! Went out t...

Birding Across the World: December 2009
http://birdingacrosstheglobe.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Birding Across the World. Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Overdue blog – Part 2 (Bosque Unchog and the north). The second night we attempted to make rice. I mean seriously, how hard can it be? After a meal of slightly undercooked rice that tasted like burning, and a packet of four Oreos each, we called it a night for another mediocre night of sleep, at least for me. Rufous-browed Hemispingus just sitting in the undergrowth! Hope everyone is well and that you have a great holiday season. Take it easy,.
