http://amyboston.blogspot.com/2009/04/which-camera-which-lens.html
Amy and Ian's Most Excellent Ecuadorian Adventure. From November to January 2009 this blog is about our travels in Ecuador. Friday, April 3, 2009. I've received many questions about cameras and I thought I'd try and answer some of them here. Fausto in particular wanted to know about my camera versus Ian's camera that Ian used to take the wonderful bird shots on his Picassa photo album. We both purchased our cameras online, Ian from B and H Photo. 1059 just for the lens at B and H. My lens is by Sigma, no...

Ian and I arrived safely at Yanayacu biological reserve yesterday, but my was it primitive! That I expected, well maybe not quite such basic facilities, but there weren't any people staying here except for us and a rather keep to himself Polish man. Amazing to me, that's for sure. Birding Across the World: July 14-16 - Kenai Peninsula, Homer
http://birdingacrosstheglobe.blogspot.com/2012/10/july-14-16-kenai-peninsula-homer.html
Birding Across the World. Thursday, October 25, 2012. July 14-16 - Kenai Peninsula, Homer. A common sight in Alaska, this moose was expertly pointed out by Alan. The evening of the return from our glacier cruise out of Seward found us headed for Homer, a couple hundred miles away on the other side of the Kenai Peninsula. Since the sun sets so late here, only being dark for 3-4 hours in the middle of the night, we were still driving in daylight even though we were on the road until 11:30 at night. The eag...

Birding Across the World: March 2009
http://birdingacrosstheglobe.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Birding Across the World. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. First day in Panama. My mom and I arrived in Panama last night with a mostly uneventful flight, only having a 30m delay in leaving Miami. As we stepped off the plane we were hit by a gust of warm hot air: welcome to Central America. As of 10am this morning the temperature was already over 85 and rising. . After all that was all gotten out of the way, and we were finally together, all was good. . Take it easy, . Sunday, March 15, 2009. After those thrilli...

Birding Across the World: Alaskan wrap-up
http://birdingacrosstheglobe.blogspot.com/2012/10/alaskan-wrap-up.html
Birding Across the World. Friday, October 26, 2012. Shot of camp again - the photos in this post consist of some of my favorites of the season. The nature up there was out of this world, both at the Canning and then in our post-trip to the Kenai Peninsula. We only had 70 or so species of bird at the field site on the North Slope, but some of them that I talked about above, such as Spectacled Eider or Buff-breasted Sandpiper, are truly special. I can see why you would want to head back up there again.

http://birdingacrosstheglobe.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Birding Across the World. Monday, January 21, 2013. Mexico - Yucatán through Calakmul 12/31/12 - 1/1/13. Another nice feature here is that the structures aren't roped off, unlike many of the other archeological sites in the region, so you're able to climb to the top and look across the unbroken jungle stretching in all directions. Panorama from the top of the pyramid - click to enlarge. We arrived at dusk on the 31. Ruddy Woodcreeper, an antswarm feature. Back on the road we quickly refueled with some de...
