An American in Antwerp
An American in Antwerp. Brörmanns in Burgundy Day Two. May 14, 2015. Burgundy countryside on our way to Beaune. Because we spent the first day at the house relaxing, for Saturday we planned a day trip to Beaune, known as the “Capital of Burgundy Wines”. Where better to take a walk through the vineyards, visit a chateau, and taste a few wines? We began our day in Beaune with fuel for the rest of the day – aka coffee! After our caffeine boost, we headed to the Parc de la Bouzaize. Century by King Louis XI.

An American in Australia | Things I wish I would have known before coming to Australia
An American in Australia. Things I wish I would have known before coming to Australia. Let’s Take A Moment…. June 5, 2010. As I have been blogging now for around three weeks, I though it would be appropriate to reflect on how this blog has been going for me (aka part of my assignment is to reflect on my blog). For about two weeks I felt that I had writer’s block when writing these posts. How in the world could I have writer’s block on a blog that are my own thoughts about whatever I want? This assignment...

An American in Belarus: English Language Fellow Progam 2007-2008
Population traveled to an overseas destination, excluding. From 1989-1999 (Office of Travel and Tourism Industries). Thursday, April 3, 2008. At 8:00 am sharp, my phone rang. It was someone from the U.S. Embassy in Minsk. It seems as though our "conference call" with the State Department had worked some magic during the night! This time they had changed their tune, they "could" send a car for me and my luggage, but the downside was I had to be ready to go at 4:00 pm the next day! Now the real fun began.

an american in belgië
An american in belgië. I had a really nice Mother's Day weekend and I hope all you Moms out there did too. Mine started with this beautiful bouquet from Ross with a sweet card that made me cry because that's what I do :). Then Ross arrived in Hasselt for the weekend and had the idea of visiting the Paul Smith exhibit at the museum here. This fashion museum is one of the "attractions" in Hasselt and we've never even visited it before! This wall of art is from his personal collection. Then on to Ross's apa...

An American in Bento
Friday, November 25, 2011. Lightened up, healthier Jambalaya. Full ingredient list is at the end of the post). This one I found at our local ShopRite and is only 2 PPV per link; most I've found have been 3 PPV per link. When I saw this new flavor, I just thought it was perfect for Jambalaya - use whatever variety you feel will work for you :). Sometimes I use pre-cooked (leftover) chicken, but this time I used 15 oz (raw weight) boneless skinless chicken breast that I browned and cubed. Add one can stewe...
