A Pocketful of Me: ABOUT ME
http://apocketfulofme.blogspot.com/p/a-pocketful-of-melanie.html
A Pocketful of Me. Hello, my name is Melanie. I live with my husband and our two amazing kids in an eighty year old 'tin and timber' home in Brisbane, Australia. We have two dogs, two cats and a few goldfish. We are laid back. Relaxed. Our pets are allowed inside. Yes, even on the furniture. Simple things are what make life worth living. Sunshine. Fresh air. Good food. Family and friends. Life doesn't need to be fancy-shmancy. Is at the heart of my blog. I want to share with you a. Pocketful of ideas you.
A Pocketful of Me: Defining Your Own Style
http://apocketfulofme.blogspot.com/2016/03/defining-your-own-style.html
March 2, 2016. Defining Your Own Style. One of the main things we've struggled with since the renovation is defining our personal style. Our climate here in Brisbane (Queensland, Australia) is sub-tropical - meaning that nine months of the year it's warm and we tend to spend more time outdoors. As you can see, these styles have little in common, apart from their roots in the natural world. So naturally (ha! And so how do we do that? And you know what? I haven't found it. Nope. Sure, I've found lots of id...
A Pocketful of Me: DIY Lego Party
http://apocketfulofme.blogspot.com/2012/02/diy-lego-party.html
February 29, 2012. My little fellow turned six yesterday and we collaboratively decided a few months ago to host a Lego party to help him celebrate. I know we could have gone to one of the Lego Centres and had it all taken care of for us, with zero stress, mess, and a devil-may-care attitude about the noise and attention factor, but we're all for home-based parties in our family, so naturally I turned to Google and the Blogosphere for advice. I just printed the sheet and cut them out. For younger kids, s...

A Pocketful of Me: DIY Rustic Wreath
http://apocketfulofme.blogspot.com/2016/03/diy-rustic-wreath.html
March 22, 2016. As part of my recent Toilet Room Makeover. I made this quick and easy wreath with a rustic touch that's just perfect for dressing up a small blank wall. All you need to get started on your wreath is a wire frame - mine came from the inside of an old lampshade - yep, you can just peel off the fabric and you're left with two wire frames just perfect for wreath bases ;). And a couple of faux greenery sprays of your choice. Keep adding as you go, being careful to fill in any visible spaces.

A Pocketful of Kimchi | Life as an English teacher in Korea
A Pocketful of Kimchi. Life as an English teacher in Korea. February 18, 2015. Today is my last day in Korea. I’m sitting at the airport on this very busy travel day (the long holiday weekend for Seollal, also known as Lunar New Year, began today), watching people come and go, wondering if their adventures are just starting or coming to an end. Did I really just spend the past year living in Korea? Did this adventure really just come to a close? February 6, 2015. The entrance to a typical Japanese house.

A Pocketful of Mental Lint...
A Pocketful of Mental Lint. Writing what you know. View my complete profile. Sunday, November 15, 2015. Writing what you know. The advice to writers seems to always have been "write what you know" which for some of us who view our lives as relatively unexciting or mundane is definitely demotivating. At least it always seemed that way. Writing what I know means engaging in significant self-reflection which is always an interesting exercise, even if not compelling or particularly spell-binding. For some ti...

A Pocketful of Miracles. ☺
A Pocketful of Miracles. 8220;Our new way of being religious may seem chaotic, as most new things do, but it coheres around certain elements: individual choice over institutional decree. Inner experience over creed; reason and evidence over. Dogma; unity and pluralism over separation and tribalism. These trends reverse centuries of religious history, and they bode well for an authentically democratic spirituality — if we continue to develop it with care. 8221; from The Huffington Post. You know my soul d...

The 90-day Exercise Challenge | It is exercise alone that supports the spirits, and keeps the mind in vigor. – Marcus Tullius Cicero
The 90-day Exercise Challenge. It is exercise alone that supports the spirits, and keeps the mind in vigor. – Marcus Tullius Cicero. Day 51 – Core. July 27, 2011. Day 51- Core Synergistics. This is the first time I did Core, having skipped most of these workout in the previous recovery week. Though it is in the recovery week, it is still a hard workout and a painful one at that.
