As pretty as a picture: Life Drawing
http://buddingartist.blogspot.com/2010/04/life-drawing.html
As pretty as a picture. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. I've also decided to take up life drawing. I have a big goal I want to pursue by year's end, and this is a part of it. This is my first effort: the subject was an older male. I am pretty happy with this, especially because it has shown me where I really need to focus (head, hands, feet, genitals, proportions). As pretty as a picture. Tuesday, June 19, 2007. But I want to play! I like lion cubs. Two pictures in two weeks. I've never been so productive :) It's amazing how inspiration takes you when you're sitting at home for 5 days straight. 11x14" on drafting film, with coloured pencil. Friday, June 15, 2007. It's been a while since I've posted anything: first there was the dancing chipmunk disaster (aka Leaping Cougar), then a tiger head that just does not want to be finished (it told me so! But I want to play!

Wednesday, April 25, 2007. So Landon's first bday has come and gone. Kinda hard to believe.we didnt do much b/c we originally weren't planning to be here and it being on a tuesday meant that people wouldn't really be able to come here. We went to lunch at CPK and played outside and played with new toys, and he devoured his cupcake. It was so cute! He got a cool pool playyard for a present here's a quick shot of it.its pretty cool. We played with that today. Posted by stacy @ 7:11 PM. I got my hair did.

As pretty as a picture. Thursday, December 27, 2007. Like a Tiger *grrrrrrr*. So, after much angst and gnashing of teeth, I have finally finished my first animal oil painting! I couldn't post it here when I finished because I was giving it to my husband as a surprise for Christmas and I know he has sent this link to people. I'm pretty damned happy with it. I am especially pleased with how the feet turned out given they were looking awfully like horrible blobs for a while there! Oh, and Jay's reaction?

http://buddingartist.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
As pretty as a picture. Sunday, February 19, 2012. An outpouring of art. So: I have actually been doing a bit recently, but have completely neglected this blog in the meantime. I thought it was time to put up my newer work, given I've just directed some people here :D. This one to the left is my very first plein air piece. It was an oil, painted at Kerry Lake near Macedon. This one was from an acrylics course I did - a seascape, if you can't tell :D We also did a landscape:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://buddingartist.blogspot.com/2010/04/i-have-actually-produced-artwork-sure.html
As pretty as a picture. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. I have actually produced artwork! Sure, they are experimental, but they are real physical pieces of paper with scribbles on it. First up - pastels. Noel and I decided to do a pastels course together, my blatant horror of touching chalky substances notwithstanding. I've completed two pieces, both of which I'm not rapt with. However there is some merit in the medium, so I'm going to try again. Here they are: Golden Lake and Autumn Ends.
