Mrs G's Baking Adventures. This is a blog about me, Mrs G and I love to make and bake sweet treats! I do it for fun as I have a normal job but on weekends I love to surprise loved ones with new creations! Sunday, 21 November 2010. Manchester, like most cities has its own Chinatown. Ho's Bakery in Chinatown is one of my favourite bakeries. Their cakes are so yum. My favourite is this Coconut Cake. The break like dough is so soft and the coconut mixture is heavenly. The cream is light too and I love the wa...

Mrs G's Baking Adventures: Easter Afternoon Tea

http://bakingwithmrsg.blogspot.com/2011/04/easter-afternoon-tea.html

Mrs G's Baking Adventures. This is a blog about me, Mrs G and I love to make and bake sweet treats! I do it for fun as I have a normal job but on weekends I love to surprise loved ones with new creations! Monday, 25 April 2011. I hope everyone has had a lovely Easter! I had two of my sister in laws round for Afternoon Tea. I made a variety of sandwiches - I don't know what it is but sandwiches always taste better to me with the crusts cut off! I also made a variety of sweet treats. Of course we had scones.

Mrs G's Baking Adventures. This is a blog about me, Mrs G and I love to make and bake sweet treats! I do it for fun as I have a normal job but on weekends I love to surprise loved ones with new creations! Saturday, 21 May 2011. Egg Whites: Friend or Foe? I generally try to avoid recipes that heavily involve the use of egg whites. Soft peaks, firm peaks, stiff peaks.if I see those words, I automatically flick over to the next page. The first was Angel cake from the Hummingbird Bakery book "Cake Days".

Mrs G's Baking Adventures. This is a blog about me, Mrs G and I love to make and bake sweet treats! I do it for fun as I have a normal job but on weekends I love to surprise loved ones with new creations! Sunday, 19 December 2010. Beks and I were asked recently if we wanted to make some cupcakes to sell at my friend's little boy's school Christmas fair. Naturally we jumped at the chance! I made a variety of decorations out of rolled fondant. And others not so Christmas themed! Saturday, 18 December 2010.

Sugarbomb Bakery: July 2009

http://sugarbombbakeshop.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

An explosion of sweetness. Friday, 24 July 2009. Here is my nephew Jack on his 1st birthday. Plain old butterfly cakes, actually they're a family favourite. Vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream and a little something extra in the middle. I don't think Jack is emjoying that as much as we thought. Jack was the only one to get a plain one. The filling is black cherry conserve. I also made some with rhubarb and ginger jam, lime curd and then Nutella in the middle. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sugarbomb Bakery: February 2010

http://sugarbombbakeshop.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

An explosion of sweetness. Friday, 19 February 2010. This week I have had two orders. To be honest this post is more about the pictures of cupcakes. One was for a friend who was taking them down to Norfolk to a party. Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream topped with a chocolate heart. The good old Mrs G - chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream and topped with Reese's Pieces. Monday, 8 February 2010. Competition Time (part 2). Medium and large vanilla cookies. So competition time then. Well I ma...

Sugarbomb Bakery: October 2009

http://sugarbombbakeshop.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

An explosion of sweetness. Friday, 30 October 2009. So for Hallowe'en I thought I'd try a nice comforting ginger and cinnamon cake with ginger frosting. They smelt lovely while they were baking actually they made my house smell quite Christmassy! Monday, 19 October 2009. Excuse the poor photography. These are just posted for being pretty. Could do with a sprinkle of glitter though! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hope to see you there! My favourite baking links and blogs. Mrs G's Baking Adventure.

Sugarbomb Bakery: December 2009

http://sugarbombbakeshop.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

An explosion of sweetness. Sunday, 20 December 2009. Mince Pie Cupcakes from the Primrose Bakery. I took these cupcakes into work and gave them out instead of Christmas cards, because you can't eat a Christmas card, well I suppose you could if you wanted to. 250g good quality mince (I just used Robinson's traditional). 200g self raising flour. 1/2 tsp mixed spice. Preheat oven to 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the mincemeat. Fold in the dry ingredients.

Sugarbomb Bakery: September 2010

http://sugarbombbakeshop.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

An explosion of sweetness. Monday, 6 September 2010. National Cupcake week 2010. National cupcake week is next week, I hadn't even realised until I was doing a clean out and saw an order form from last year. Gosh this last year has just flown by. I've kicked it off this year with a competition. If you were a cupcake what would you be and why? There is a prize for the competition but it's only open to people living in Manchester UK, sorry about that! To place an order. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sugarbomb Bakery: July 2010

http://sugarbombbakeshop.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

An explosion of sweetness. Saturday, 17 July 2010. Or Mrs G and PB part 3 or 4 or 5. Firstly apologies for the long absence. Intermittant internet connections and real life have got in the way of blogging in the last couple of months. I also haven't baked much either. The weather has just been much too hot and the last thing i wanted to do was spend time in a boiling hot kitchen. I promise to try and update more regularly from now on but we'll see how long that resolution lasts. It was actually really ea...

Sugarbomb Bakery: October 2010

http://sugarbombbakeshop.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

An explosion of sweetness. Monday, 25 October 2010. The Sugarbomb Signature cupcakes Pt 1. We've covered my dislike of vanilla before but it really does go into practically everything. Most people I know would go for a plain old vanilla cupcake. As much as I don't like them it seems that vanilla is almost universally loved. Actually it's named after my mum who is definitely not a plain Jane even though she thinks she is. She'll kill me for posting this picture of her! Monday, 18 October 2010. Teawitter 4...

An explosion of sweetness. Saturday, 15 August 2009. To Nadia and Andy Gubba. So remember all those un-iced cakes? Chocolate and vanilla cakes with contrasting buttercream. The roses were supplied by Richard's Cakes in Urmston. The mini cupcakes are the same but they have contrasting colour M and Ms on. Check out the American M and Ms website for different colours. Check out the glitter on these bad boys! Thursday, 13 August 2009. The day of many cakes. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hope to see you there!

http://sugarbombbakeshop.blogspot.com/2010/05/return-of-reverend-sort-of.html

An explosion of sweetness. Thursday, 20 May 2010. Return Of The Reverend. Sort Of. These cupcakes in liquid form go quite well with CocaCola. I usually make this chocolate velvet cake with Jack Daniel's. This time I made them with Jim Beam instead. I made these before way back in March 2009. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Undergrad Gourmand

Saturday, September 15, 2012. We decided to make a great steak into a great meal, and since vegetables are more my forte anyway let's start with the side dishes. Whoever says they don't like brussels sprouts just isn't cooking them right. Halve them, douse them in a bit of olive oil and balsamic, sprinkle on a bit of sea salt, and roast them until they start to brown and you'll change your mind. We also included a more widely favored vegetable in our gourmet endeavor:. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil i...

Baking with Mrs. Baker!

Baking with Mrs. Baker! This is my story. I cook, I bake, I live for my family. I feed people. OK, OK I OVERFEED people. Sunday, July 1, 2012. And I England will always be my daughters home. She grew up there and spent the better part of her life there. The military way of life was totally built for someone like me. 3 And immedi...
