Over the means of production as well as 'critical' industries like banking, healthcare, etc. Nationalist often reaching the point of statolatry, or worship of the state. David Bottomley's Blog: Colonialism and Imperialism
http://blog.david.bottomley.us/2012/09/colonialism-and-imperialism.html
Welcome to my world. Sunday, September 9, 2012. Establishment of a uniform rule of law and contracts, which protected individual rights and property, allowing economic progress in areas of the world that had never known such stability. Many areas governed by the British were rife with infighting and tribalism, and never rose to the point where they could accomplish great things. The British changed this for many areas of the world today by providing order and stability. As mercantilism went by the waysid...

David Bottomley's Blog: The Next Big Thing(s)
http://blog.david.bottomley.us/2012/05/next-big-things.html
Welcome to my world. Friday, May 25, 2012. The Next Big Thing(s). I used to own a Magellan GPS receiver, and I wondered why I needed to use that in conjunction with a magnetic compass and a physical map. Why can't the GPS project my location onto a map, and determine direction via an internal compass? Why can't we use a wireless system to keep that map updated? Why can't I communicate my location in real-time over a radio network to others? Why can't I send and receive emails over that system as well?
