Emily Roche: February 2011
http://ecroche.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Graphic Design Sheffield Hallam. Monday, 28 February 2011. Philip Treacy.BUTTERFLY and FLORAL hats. I found the work of Philip Treacy when I was researching butterfly patterns. They are pretty impressive hats, but you don't see many people walking down the street in them. I love how its like an explosion of colour and pattern being displayed proud of place on somebodies head. They so extravagant and eye catching but they still manage to have the elegance and beauty of the natural form. To truly see how a...

Emily Roche: More characters..
http://ecroche.blogspot.com/2011/04/more-characters.html
Graphic Design Sheffield Hallam. Thursday, 14 April 2011. I enjoyed the workshop so much that a continued to develop a range of characters in my spare time. I still kept in mind to keep the character simple and not to over complicate my designs. Here are some examples of my ideas. I then look at animal designs as well. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). DanielleRose..: FAIL
http://danielle-pilkington.blogspot.com/2011/03/fail.html
Monday, 14 March 2011. Started making my sculpture a few days back now and these were my first attempts using card. I used double sided tape to secure the tabs. The next morning I woke up to these. The attached tabs all fell apart. So I think I will have to use cartridge paper to make the rest. I have included these images because, even though they failed they look quite good so thought I'd photograph them, they remind me of an animals skeleton, essence of an open rib cage going on. The one and only.

Monday, 14 March 2011. This is my final 3D form! I think it responds well to the brief as it involves repetition and it reflects my research. Using the 12 separate pieces attached using double sided tape, I sewed thread around the bottom pieces to connect them as it was very unstable, the tape kept un-sticking and falling out of shape etc. Also attached some thread to some of the points at the top to create a hanging, kind of like a chandelier. Emily Roche: Character...ANIMATING 'Infinity Girl'
http://ecroche.blogspot.com/2011/04/characteranimating-infinity-girl.html
Graphic Design Sheffield Hallam. Thursday, 14 April 2011. Character.ANIMATING 'Infinity Girl'. Before jumping in head first to my animation I still didn't feel comfortable with using after effects, so I began to experiment with the software. Below I have focused on my character that i will be using throughout the animation. Using the parent and child tools I was able to make the figures limbs move individually. Heres my outcome.I was pleasantly surprised. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Emily Roche: Animation time...my scenes
http://ecroche.blogspot.com/2011/05/animation-timemy-scenes.html
Graphic Design Sheffield Hallam. Wednesday, 4 May 2011. Animation time.my scenes. From constructing my character using cut up coloured card I thought it would be a good idea to keep this a constant throughout my animation. I made the scenes and any added props for my animation out of coloured card. But why? From there I have then gone to a shot of the sun shining in the sky to demonstrate what a glorious day it is. In this scene I there are 3 birds which fly past from left to right. I then go back to the...

Emily Roche: CARD card card card.....
http://ecroche.blogspot.com/2011/05/card-card-card-card.html
Graphic Design Sheffield Hallam. Wednesday, 4 May 2011. CARD card card card. I decided to make my scenes out of card and because I felt they were successful I also made my character 'Infinity Girl' out of card. Here's what it looked like when i scanned in all the separate layers of the figure. I did this so i could easily construct it in photoshop. Then in my animation it would be able to walk naturally. DanielleRose..: January 2011
http://danielle-pilkington.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, 29 January 2011. Thought it would be appropriate to take a look at some of Richard Sweeney. S work. His work is very delicate and graceful. I love the curves and pleats in his work which add texture. I especially like the Motion Forms he has produced. A method called wet folding was used, which allows easier manipulation of the paper. The shapes produced. Remind me of waves and other organic forms found in nature. This is an Ink on paper mono print by Sweeney. The artist is Peter Callesen.

DanielleRose..: Final Ideas for Sculpture
http://danielle-pilkington.blogspot.com/2011/03/task-1-final-ideas.html
Sunday, 6 March 2011. Final Ideas for Sculpture. Well I'm basing my final idea on the structure of a leaf, pretty basic I know, but sometime the simplest idea turns out to be the best one. Well I'm hoping so on this occasion anyway. I'm also taking inspiration from some of the shell inspired forms I created. Starting to feel a bit better today :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
