Sandwiches There: November 2007
http://sandwichesthere.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 28, 2007. In a time in which everybody is a post-something-or-other, I think I can affirm that I am a post-Lutheran. I am no longer a Lutheran, but it is same to say there are some vestiges of Lutheranism that will probably be forever with me. Links to this post. Friday, November 16, 2007. Theology is not Knowledge. I so totally don't get theology right now. This is another perennial issue that I revisit every so often. Right now I am working through Vanhoozer's. Links to this post.

Sandwiches There: January 2007
http://sandwichesthere.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 25, 2007. Roger Williams' Mandate for the American Church. This is a paper I wrote for my American Church History class. I was pretty excited about it and I think there's more potential here. Some day I would like to clean up some of the awkward working, fill out the details, and try to get it published somewhere. In the meantime, blogging is still publishing, of sorts. America’s Radical Reformer. Yet Williams himself preferred theology to political science. His passion was to clean...

Sandwiches There: September 2007
http://sandwichesthere.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 12, 2007. Historical Context for the Gospels. I am coming back to study the historical context of the New Testament - the first two centuries BCE. Here is a brief summary, using the 25-year grid method. Beginning this period in 200 and ending at the year 1 gives us eight blocks of time. I Maccabees covers block 2-3, while II Maccabees starts in block 1 and ends in block 2. Block 1 (200-175) - Israel is under Syrian Rule. Block 7 (50-25) - Roman influence. Antipater, the first of ...

Sandwiches There: November 2006

Wednesday, November 22, 2006. I found a great cover of U2's. By an up-and-coming solo artist. Links to this post. Tuesday, November 21, 2006. I have been listening to the band Sons of Korah. For the past few weeks. Stuart Briscoe. Each of their songs are taken from a psalm or portion of a psalm set to music. I really enjoy it, especially being able to appreciate some of the psalms in a new way. I'm sure this will be at the end of their list and it will be interesting to hear how they pull that one off.

Diary of a Feminist Homemaker: December 2007
http://mom2audrey.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Diary of a Feminist Homemaker. My life (and toddler) related ramblings. Saturday, December 29, 2007. Yes, I Know. I've gone a little cake happy, but can I say WOW! A Pink and Brown Birthday. One of the themes that I'm considering for Audrey's birthday is not really a "theme" at all, it's more of a color scheme. If you ask anyone I know, they will tell you that I love, love, love the color brown. My husband actually teases me about it, because it's really more of an obsession than a love! And then onto 'A...

Joel Osteen’s Christianity without a Cross | Denny Burk
http://www.dennyburk.com/joel-osteen’s-christianity-without-a-cross
A commentary on theology, politics, and culture. Joel Osteenâ s Christianity without a Cross. October 15, 2007. The sad thing about Joel Osteen is that he has all the marks of a sincere person. I just finished watching the profile of his ministry on “ 60 Minutes. 8221; and there is not one thing about him that looks phony. He is one of the most likeable, loveable fellows that you’ll ever see. I really think he believes everything he is saying. Deceiving and being deceived. 8221; ( 2 Timothy 3:13. 8220;Th...

Sandwiches There: July 2006
http://sandwichesthere.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 19, 2006. I just finished listening to a debate between Ray Comfort and Ron Barrier on the existence of God. An mp3 version is available at. Http:/ www.livingwaters.com/listenwatch/BCAD.mp3. Thought I'd share just a few thoughts. I was more than a little disappointed with Ray's debate style. He recited his arguments word-for-word from his book,. God Doesn't Believe in Athiests. Nevertheless, for my money Comfort was the clear winner. Though he never really. The claim that something is.
