Cherishing These Moments

Monday, September 13, 2010. Making Pyramids, spiced oils and canopic jars. Right after our Pledge of Allegiance this morning, Brayden asked if we could do history first. Of course! Today we would be doing our weekly history projects. The first consisted of making a pyramid. Kobie and Brayden decided to make one out of Lego blocks. Each went their own way and created a unique and wonderful pyramid. While I set up for the other projects. (Look @ those beautiful GREEN. Next, we made scented oils. Our family...

Cherishing These Moments: Field trip to Congaree National Park

http://cherishingthesemoments.blogspot.com/2010/09/field-trip-to-congaree-national-park.html

Monday, September 13, 2010. Field trip to Congaree National Park. Our family went on a field trip to the Congaree Swamp. It was a delightful day with cool weather! First, we went into the museum which showed us things we would find in the area. The boys stood inside a true-to-size swamp tree! Next, we watched the informative movie. Finally, we began our hike. The first thing we saw were some brilliant purple berries, and I mean they were stunning. God’s creations are brilliant! The spiders were big!

Cherishing These Moments: Write like the Ancients!

http://cherishingthesemoments.blogspot.com/2010/09/write-like-ancients.html

Friday, September 10, 2010. Write like the Ancients! Kobie thought out 2 sentences to “write”. With hieroglyphs, you only write the sounds. You hear so the words are shorter. Here are the photos of Kobie at work. He likes to do things with efficiency and be done :). Brayden thought out a paragraph! What focus and effort! My Family My Forever. I wish my school would have been this fun, I bet Id have learned more:-). You are way cooler than me. Ill have to take lessons from you!

http://cherishingthesemoments.blogspot.com/2010/09/afternoon-with-granddaddy-grams.html

Thursday, September 2, 2010. Afternoon with Granddaddy and Grams. So we parked and walked to Sumter St where the parade would begin. We sat in chairs we had carried. Dad asked the boys to tell him what they learned about today…I don’t know if he could’ve imagined what was coming. He learned a lot about Egyptian people, gods and myths, Pharaohs and craft projects! Now the parade began. Old timey jeeps and cars drove by, one after the other, filled with WW2 veterans waving American flags! It is really neat...

Cherishing the Moment | Each day is an adventure!

Each day is an adventure! January 7, 2017 by Rachel Malcolm. Abby reading to Melanie and Myra. A few months ago we learned that a dear friend’s cancer had returned full force and that unless there was a miracle, she only had a short time to live. Abby had just come to see us she’d lost little of her vibrancy. She was still pushing a heavy mower around the yard and canning food. It was hard to believe that she was dying. So hard to accept. This might be the last time I see her. I knew Abby when I was a ch...
