In my final project of my first year I chose a piece of concept art which I was really drawn to and enthusatic about. I then had to bring to research and prepare to bring this to life in 3D. I re-created the Rapunzel tower from 'Tangled' by sticking as close as I could to the concept art but also making logical changes which were influenced by my own artistic style and research.

Some concept pieces I've completed, I really enjoy building up my skills in digital painting. I decided to do a Back to the Future themed piece and also a couple of pieces merging Alice in Wonderland and film noir. Also inclucded is a current piece of concept art for a character in my final year at university which I've based on 'Valliant Hearts', they have very distinctive characters which drew me to wanting to do a piece like this for myself.

William Sternway's Intepid Adventure. I participated in ‘The Journeyman Project’ for this we had to create a vertical slice or demo of a video game in teams of around 20 in a 3 month time period. Our game ‘William Sternway’s Intrepid Adventure’ is an action/adventure game narrated by a mother reading to her child. For this project decided to create a spitfire which could also work underwater with collapsible wings and a movable tail for navigation. I really wanted to work on something a little more mechanical which would allow me to explore the area of making ficitoonal mechanical objects look realistic and plausable. I make handmade ceramic lamps. They are not traditional lamps with a base and shade, but pottery vessels with holes that contains a light fitting or t-light. The holes allow light to spill out from the lamp and fall onto the surfaces around it. The position of the lamp alters the way light falls onto walls and ceilings.
