Comm 41 SJSU

Thursday, December 9, 2010. My favorite concept that we learned from the book was how to refute arguments. I feel like this was by far the most applicable to my life and also it came up a lot in our final project. This is when I could really see how forming arguments was important, but refuting them was equally important, especially in our mock business world setup. I hope this skill in particular will take me far in whatever line of work I end up going into. My least favorite part of the course was some...

Comm 41 SJSU: Favorite and Least Favorite Things about the Class

http://comm41sjsu-wanderwonder.blogspot.com/2010/12/favorite-and-least-favorite-things.html

Thursday, December 9, 2010. Favorite and Least Favorite Things about the Class. My favorite thing about this class was learning how to blog. Even though my grandparents like to joke about how my generation blogs and “tweets” about everything, I happen to very technologically challenged and I have never even seen a blog before, much less write one. I was surprised how easy it was for even me to figure out, it actually did not detract from my learning at all like I thought it would. View my complete profile.

Comm 41 SJSU: Chapter 15

http://comm41sjsu-wanderwonder.blogspot.com/2010/11/chapter-15.html

Friday, November 19, 2010. A concept in chapter 15 that I found interesting is the concept of tracing the cause backwards. One of my biggest pet peeves is when a person cannot take responsibility for their actions and excuse themselves by blaming other people or things that happened. A lot of the time this is done by tracing the cause backwards. Like the book said- you could trace the cause backwards and keep moving the cause of an event backwards forever. Comm 41 SJSU: What I learned

http://comm41sjsu-wanderwonder.blogspot.com/2010/12/what-i-learned.html

Thursday, December 9, 2010. In this class I have learned how to get my point across in the most educated, meaningful way possible. Someone once told me that it doesn’t matter how smart you are and how many good ideas you may have if you do not have the skills to present them in a positive way to people. Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Generalizing is when we make a claim about a group or population to generalize an argument. The chapter is about how to correctly use generalizations and how to identify when they are used incorrectly. On page 289 there is a box titled “Premises need for a good generalization”:. The sample is representative. The sample is big enough. The sample is studied well. Tuesday, December 7, 2010. This Semester I Learned! For my Comm41 class. Thursday, December 9, 2010. 3) Which concept was interesting? 2) What did I think of the class? First of all, my most favorite thing about this class is the blogging! As of now, I cannot think of any way this class be improved, but as I said in the previous paragraph, it would be really nice if the class were provided some type of forum/discussion board to discuss the projects with each other. It saves us from having a cluttered mailbox. :3. 1) What I learned. View my complete profile.
