Surviving food allergies while staying healthy. Cooking Allergy Free with EoE. My name is Michelle and I have eosinophilic esophagitis. You’re probably wondering who I am and what the heck that is. I’ll give some background first. I don’t know how I’m going to get there. All I know is I like food and helping people. That’s a big reason I started this blog. I previously had a blog (you can find it here – http:/ eat-freely.blogspot.com/. What the heck is eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE)? I’ll be posting alle...

Surviving food allergies while staying healthy. Cooking Allergy Free with EoE. Long Time No See. Wow it really has been awhile, huh? I am going to try to pick this blog back up. I’ve been getting lots of emails and comments from this blog. I think I can truly help people if I keep this up. So what’s new in my world? Also, I started a new job! Well it’s not so new anymore hehe). Now, to the allergies…. In December, I went back for allergy testing. And it was not fun. I reacted to 29 foods. For me (may not...

Vegan Queso | Cooking Allergy Free with EoE
https://cookingallergyfreewitheoe.wordpress.com/2014/07/10/vegan-queso
Surviving food allergies while staying healthy. Cooking Allergy Free with EoE. This is one of my favorite recipes. I make it on a weekly basis it seems like! I kind of compiled a few recipes I found online as well as a “cheesy” sauce I found for a cauliflower recipe in a cookbook. My recipe does contain wheat but I think a pinch of xanthan gum or even a little bit of cornstarch would achieve the same effect. The purpose of the flour is to thicken the sauce like a roux. This stuff is a staple for me!

Oh, Toronto! | EosinophilGirl

Trying to stop worrying and love my EGID. Summer’s End →. July 5, 2014. Several weeks home now from a business trip to Toronto, but I’d been remiss if I didn’t flag it as a great town for my way of eating. The catered events for my conference were kind of a mess, ranging from virtually-nothing-to-eat to blech. But the time on my own? Wheat-free, dairy-free abundance! Who says you can’t have brownies for breakfast when they’re wheat-free and dairy-free? At the other end of dining was Grasslands. Trying to...

Trying to stop worrying and love my EGID. Trying to stop worrying and love my eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease. May 16, 2016. It’s been too long. WAY too long. Trying to stop worrying and love my EGID. Lessons Learned: Managing the Scope. April 29, 2014. Fallout from an unfortunate I.V. I was expecting to hear from Dr. Eos today with the results of last week’s scope. But when he did call, I wasn’t at all expecting the news. Clean, clean, clean. Or close enough to clean, anyway. Just a few errant eos hanging around in my stomach where, for all intents and purposes, they are allowed to be. Yeah, maybe not. Click to print (Opens in new window). Enter your comment ...

Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Eosinophilic Esophagitis: A clinicopathological review. Short abstract for yet another EoE clinical review. Friday, September 12, 2014. Crystal Clear: A Unique Clue to Diagnosis in a Patient With Recurrent Nausea and Vomiting. This is simply a case study, but makes me wonder about the use of stool studies to monitor active lower EGIDs. They did a scope on this particular woman only after finding Charcot Leyden crystals in her stool, which are a byproduct of eosinophils.
