Nom Nom Nom de Plume: May 2011
http://nomnomnomdeplume.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Nom Nom Nom de Plume. Love of food and joy of cooking. Tuesday, May 17, 2011. This month I've been trying to be extra frugal and not spend any money that isn't planned. I was whittling away hundreds of dollars on the incidental "I'll just pop into the supermarket on the way to the train station" purchases. Literally, hundreds! So this month, I said to myself, "No more spending unless it's from a list". The first four days were really really hard! And apple crumble (a friend at work gave me a whole bunch ...

Nom Nom Nom de Plume. Love of food and joy of cooking. Sunday, May 1, 2011. My friend Amy linked me to this blog. From which I took this recipe. I am a bit of a klutz when it comes to baking (but not cooking for some reason! So it was somewhat of a disaster. But the cake still turned out delicious, yet not quite cake-like. Whoa, this being self-sufficient business is quite a feat! Naturally, the dairy had every which chocolate bar but white! I decorated mine with tinned strawberries. Food in a Minute.
Duck in Wellies: June 2011
http://duckinwellies.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
This blog is a place for me to ramble on about life in Wellington and anything else that takes my fancy. Monday, 20 June 2011. This blog has just gone over 1,000 page views. Although that's tiny numbers compared to many blogs, it makes me pleased that I've got some readers. In other news, I'm off to Hamilton for a couple of days with work and I've just bought tickets to go see the All Blacks play South Africa as part of the Tri Nations at the end of July. Sunday, 19 June 2011. Probably through a combinat...

This blog is a place for me to ramble on about life in Wellington and anything else that takes my fancy. Monday, 22 August 2011. I went snowboarding at Mount Ruapehu again this weekend. This time, I went up for a whole weekend with my friend Angela from work, her flatmate Scotty and their three Irish friends. Crazy looking cloud as we drove up to the ski field. Happy on the chair lifts. View down to the slopes from our off-piste vantage point. It's Scotty getting up at the bottom after his own wipe out.

I thought the proposed silver bullet was a bit too simple. I did really enjoy his speaking style and the energy he put int...

When Cooking Is A Way Of Life
Live to Cook, Cook to Live. Things I Love About Cooking. With the Christmas and holiday season approaching, I couldn’t help thinking about how much cooking means to me. It encompasses a whole range of things that are important to me. Another thing I love is the pleasure food gives, both to others and to myself. It’s just so rewarding to see the smiles and enjoyment that people experience. I love cookbooks. There is a bit of history, culture and personality in each of them. November 17th, 2009 Tags: baking.

Sunday, 11 August 2013. My take on Singapore Rice Noodles - Easy, quick and delicious dinners - part 1. Further, it turns out, working folk want better food than back in your uni days. They have a bit more cash to spend and mince five days per week (on toast, bolognese, meatloaf, nachos and pie) just does not cut it anymore. Stir fry vege (such as broccoli, carrots, carrots, onion, capsicum) - at least 1/2 cup per person chopped into bite-sized pieces. 1 tsp ground ginger. 1 tsp ground garlic. Put some o...
