Our adventures cooking … and other fun stuff. I found this recipe in an old Chatelaine magazine. I put it aside years ago and decided to actually make it. It is fall and that brings soup weather. It was very tastyand smelled wonderful. I didn’t have any brown rice so I used basmati. Also, I didn’t have frozen peas, I used a mixture of peas and corn. This is the point when the smell gets amazing! Season to taste with salt and pepper if needed. Once the rice is done let it cool. To the cooled rice add:.

Our adventures cooking … and other fun stuff. We used to make these every year when we got lots of jalapeños from our garden. Our garden does not give us many peppers anymore due to shade from a large building that went up next to us. I mentioned this recipe to Mimi. When she said that she had a lot of jalapenos to use up from her garden and promised the share the recipe with her. And the Company that makes Mason Jars. 1 bunch jalapeño peppers. Remove stem and seeds from the peppers then slice in rings.

Our adventures cooking … and other fun stuff. Newer posts →. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Blueberry Maple Sauce. These are lemony, light and airy pancakes. The egg whites give a slightly soufflé like texture and the ricotta gives extra protein. The sauce is quick to make while the pancakes are cooking, just maple syrup, seedless raspberry jam and frozen blueberries simmered to make a sauce. Start off by seating a lemon, you will need 1 heaping TBSP of the zest. Cook in hot fry pan or griddle. Apple pickin...

July 15, 2015. OK, I admit it, I have a thing for lemonade this summer, lemonade the deep pink colour of ripe berries. But this time we’re talking dessert, essentially a classic lemon bar jazzed up with raspberry purée and a shot of pomegranate juice, and lightly dusted with icing sugar. These Pink Lemonade Bars from Epicurious. Are tart and citrusy, but so very rich, all that blushing goodness sitting atop a melt-in-your-mouth shortbread base. Perfect for hot weather. 8531; cup powdered sugar. Purée ras...
