Saturday, July 26, 2014. Running The Costco Gauntlet. Shopping at Costco can be fun. We can shop and eat what amounts to a sample plate of appetizers during happy hour. (Costco in Tijuana, Mexico served Tequila samples - I thought I heard since the privatization of liquor sales, this happens here in the U.S. as well.) Saturdays are especially delicious. I brought my son with me and told him, "this is lunch so eat up! The trick now is to live and learn and not go whole hog the next time. We will see.

http://darcysartlife.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Art in the Life. Sunday, September 29, 2013. Once upon a time, I wrote a blog post about my mom's best friend, Joanne Prokop. You can find the post, A Kinder Kidney, in the December/2012 folder. I wrote about Joanne's struggle to find a kidney donor. She has Polycystic Kidney Disease and has been waiting to find a match with a donor. After four long years of waiting. a match has been found and Joanne goes in for transplant surgery tomorrow to replace her failing kidneys. Sunday, September 22, 2013. At th...

Sunday, September 21, 2014. This Graphic shows what I ate August 23, when Elizabeth and I attended the American Idol show at Marymoor Park in Redmond. It was their last show and I won the tickets by calling into the radio station. I thought it was a fitting full circle event because Elizabeth auditioned for American Idol the last time they were in Seattle. It was quite an experience. His lunch sub was not dripping with grease like my breakfast. I put this graphic together to show how easy it is to get ho...

Art in the Life. Friday, June 21, 2013. I am now two weeks out the other side of finishing my time at Pierce College. Whew! I have discovered many things about myself throughout this "Back to School Journey" and some of these things surprise me. A few of my personal and educational discoveries are:. From Point A to Point B, I like to finish things. I felt compelled to tie in my blogs numerically in relationship to the assignment number. The line-up issue can cause my husband to sigh and carry on.). The C...

Four Sisters Journey: I Got All My Sisters with Me
http://foursistersjourney.blogspot.com/2014/07/i-got-all-my-sisters-with-me.html
Thursday, July 24, 2014. I Got All My Sisters with Me. It has been a fabulous day! Best beginning with Cecilia presenting us our "sister shirts". Cecilia had the idea, our sister-in-law Darcy had the artistic design, and because of the two of them, we have these great shirts that have sparked conversations wherever we go. That bike's flat tire led to a beautiful beach drive with views of the amazing red sand the water, quaint villages and the smell of the sea which led to the need for seafood. Come to fi...

Serving Size Summer: Take Me Out Tonight
http://servingsizesummer.blogspot.com/2014/09/take-me-out-tonight.html
Monday, September 1, 2014. Take Me Out Tonight. My First Taste of Ethiopian. Restaurant food should be more complicated, or different or interesting in ways I don't eat on a day to day basis or why else would I go out to eat? There is that wonderful part of being able to savor and enjoy the meal without looking ahead to the inevitable clean-up that is there waiting for me when I cook in my own kitchen. My Favorite All-American Breakfast. This Version Was Very Greasy. My first "Dining Out Challenge" occur...

http://foursistersjourney.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 12, 2014. Coming to a close. Our Four Sisters Journey came to a close with David Raymond driving us into Boston to catch our planes. We were glad for the driver who knew where he was going, leaving time for the four of us to enjoy the last bits of conversation before saying good bye. It was an amazing ten days together and we will always cherish the memories that have been created on this journey. On that good bye note, we would like to extend a few thank yous. And a HUGE thank you to Dar...

Art in the Life: August 2012
http://darcysartlife.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Art in the Life. Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Growing up I didn't play many games but, Gerard and I began playing games before we were married in 1981. I remember the time my best friend, J.Patt and her partner were visiting. We played a game called Hand and Foot (similar to Canasta). It took me a while but I figured out that Gerard and J.Patt were cheating! I found out that he has a history of stacking the deck so other people would win. This particular incident was not for my benefit. She never knew Gerar...
