Edtech Languages: BLOGS AS LANGUAGE PORTFOLIO
http://edtech-languages.blogspot.com/2010/04/blogs-as-portfolio.html
Learning to teach French with new technology. Friday, April 30, 2010. BLOGS AS LANGUAGE PORTFOLIO. As the end of the year approaches, I would like to take some time to reflect on one new web 2.0 tool I decided to adopt this school year. At the beginning of the year, I created 3 different blogs for each French class:. It feels as though I have not used it consistently enough for students and/or parents to feel that it is a valuable resource. 1) Some are well kept with all projects posted. Others have ...

http://edtech-languages.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Learning to teach French with new technology. Saturday, January 31, 2009. About 1 year and a half ago, I started a blog for my French class: mon journal en francais. The way I used it, I would post questions related to our current topic and ask students to comment online. They had to contribute at least once a week. I made several observations regarding "blogging in French" with students that made me "question" the validity of using of blog for my French students:. 4 Learning and using French in an onlin...
Edtech Languages: Visual Literacy (course 3-blog 2)
http://edtech-languages.blogspot.com/2009/09/visual-literacy-course-3-blog-2.html
Learning to teach French with new technology. Sunday, September 20, 2009. Visual Literacy (course 3-blog 2). A picture is worth a thousand word. Using images to illustrate new vocabulary is not something new to modern language educators. We use visuals to catch students' attention and the image help them construct meaning. However, finding relevant and interesting images. To get a message across in the target language. Is much more powerful. Check out the cc help form. I used this picture. Of course the ...

Learning to teach French with new technology. Thursday, March 25, 2010. LINGT: Sharing Best Practice and Web 2.0 Tools! Reading and Writing skills are often the easiest skills to put into practice. However, finding relevant, practical and interesting LISTENING and SPEAKING activities can be more challenging. ISB’s ES world language teachers shared this wonderful web 2.0 tool for language teachers this semester. I found that can give you taste for what LINGT. Can do for your language classroom. FEEDBACK: ...

tecnologia en clase: What do students say?
http://gjimenezaguilar.blogspot.com/2010/03/what-do-students-say.html
Friday, March 26, 2010. What do students say? I had the opportunity to have Kim Cofino. 21st century literacy specialist at our school, come and chat with me before and after she observed one of my language classes. Although her visit was geared to the Coetail course; she mentioned she will be using some of the protocol questions from Looking for Learning with my students. She shares her observations in her blog post. Where she explains in detail the process to observe my class. This; in their own words.
tecnologia en clase: Using digital storytelling
http://gjimenezaguilar.blogspot.com/2010/03/using-digital-storytelling.html
Thursday, March 25, 2010. Combining our unit standards and integrating technology standards from NETS. We came up with a formative assessment. The class became a tourism agency and using digital story telling students promoted tourism in Thailand; specifically Chiang Mai. Because the students travelled to different areas and experienced different activities, they were able to share facts and experiences. And decided on a digital tool. Interestingly I had most working with photostory3. It was such a pleas...

Sunday, March 29, 2009. An online dictionary defines. As “the state of being free from intrusion or disturbance in one's private life or affairs”. So what are our options? First, we have to continuously demand this right. For example, as consumers we cannot allow social networks such as facebook to use. Sunday, March 22, 2009. They know who you are. I googled my name…. Saturday, February 20, 2010. Setting up.a thought. In a pre-observation meeting for this Coetail class; I shared a lesson which did not only focus on language teaching and content, but it also integrated technology in alignment to the standards of the unit. The pre-observation conference helped me to reflect about the objective of my lesson and the value of integrating technology in my class; with the constant question "how do I support my students to use. Friday, September 25, 2009. Learning a new language inevitably gives you a taste of culture. In my classes I attempt to integrate culture in different ways. Displaying an object for example. I combined Google Earth to show my students the monument to the Equator located in Ecuador, but first I placed a small wooden replica of it on a desk for students to look at it and discuss what they thought it was - fun and very creative ideas came up! With audio, the sound of a "charango". Sunday, September 13, 2009.

Thursday, December 10, 2009. The unit I am designing includes the use of technology in the summative assessment. My grade 8 students will be creating digital storybooks for children using voicethread and sharing those with the ES students in our school and other audiences in the web. The idea is to give a chance to my 8th grade students "teach" the young ones through a book. They will be focusing on the "pillars" taught in ES/MS and presenting the concept to ES students through a story. Every time we use ...

Sunday, December 26, 2010. There has been an interesting turning point with the use of technology in my classroom. First, it was just a means to complete an activity, then it opened new ways for students to show what they are able to do; now it is integrated in my teaching; as a daily learning and teaching tool. Next year our middle school is going 1:1; all students will have a laptop.and I can't wait! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). And The Curtain Comes Down. View my complete profile.

Wednesday, 3 May 2017. Webo-plasmosis - can you smell the cat's urine? Thank you Michael Caulfield. For another post in the Traces series. The idea that the way we manage our social-media life is pliable and actually mould-able by the medium itself is compelling. Using a cat toxoplasma example, he warns that, just like the mice from that example who no longer smell the cat's urine, increasingly we no longer worry about the way we share details of our lives. This is his list to check whether you have.

What comes to mind when you think of the word "Web".intricate, links, connection, extension, strong, attract, caught, can't get out!
