Elder and Sister Patterson. Sunday, December 12, 2010. Emergency Help for Tuapse Area Flood Victims. The area surrounding Tuapse was hit by some devastating flooding due to 3 tornados in the area that created a vacuum when they hit the mountain range adjacent to the Black Sea where this area is located. Fifteen people died and 30 people are still missing. Many people were displaced from their homes. The church donated $25,000 in emergency funding to help these people. Elder and Sister Patterson. Sunday, August 21, 2011. THE HOF" OF ST PETERSBURG, RUSSIA. Our daughter termed Peter Hof Palace as "the home of this Hof guy who was comsumed by his own importance." Peter Hof is the summer home of Peter the Great who was a Russian Tsar. His estate is located on the outskirts of St Petersburg and overlooks the Baltic Sea. It is not her actual birthday but this is the designated day set aside to honour her. Four of us senior missionary couples – Perron, Brereton, Wallace, and Fugal – took advantage of the holiday to travel north to the Puhoi Café and Cheese Factory for lunch and then to travel south to visit the Wood Carver. This is the last week of Institute classes before semester break.
