Rankings, awards and all that jazz. PR & Disclosure. Fun : : : Family : : : Travel : : : : :. Why mums should vote. March 13, 2015. We’ve all heard the reasons why we should vote, exercising our hard won rights and having a say on important issues, but today, in honour of Mother’s Day, I want to talk about why Mums should vote. We’re the ones sat for hours in A&E with poorly toddlers in the middle of the night. Yet because we’re so busy doing all of those things (and for lots of other reasons) you ...

From the roof tops. Laughter, medicine for the soul. The Battle of the Brain. Beneath the veil is someone like me. Not the Pink Bike! October 5, 2015. After an initial burst of enthusiastic writing I found myself slowly winding down like a spinning top that had lost its momentum only to wobble to a halt. I’m not only talking about my blogging but also about the very slow and debilitating reality of experiencing what many call “burn out”. 2 thoughts on “ Press Play. October 8, 2015 at 8:19 pm. Posted by Jo Sandelson. Bull; 10 Comments. My 9 year old son didn’t believe he’d won a prize for his illustrated poem last week, but when we arrived at The Story Museum in Oxford last week, and saw his work mounted and framed on smart black display panels, he looked hugely relieved. The charity Family Links UK. Here is my son receiving his ‘stiffcat’. Unfortunately at the time of publishing, his face was still pixilated. Well behaved children who’d only ever succumbed to about 3 tantrums in his short lif...

Wife in the North. Just how grim can it get up north? Actually, it's quite nice.) One woman's not-so-lonely journey into the Northern heartlands. Wife in the North. A Year of Doing Good. Friday, March 15, 2013. I Rode the Bus. I rode the bus today – if it’s good enough for the new Pope. It’s good enough for me. And where to go? I started out from Durham bus station and had my choice. The ends of the earth where new Popes live? Or closer to home? Perhaps a pit village? Because I wanted to know why a cardi...

10 things I learned at BritMums Live 2015. Jun 20, 2015. 1 The nice people at the tables in The Hub give you free stuff. Shed-loads of pens. All you have to do is ask nicely. 2 According to someone in the know. The word ‘vart’ is a portmanteau term combining the words ‘vagina’ and ‘fart’. Use it wisely. Although I love learning new words, I still personally prefer the term ‘queef’. (Which just goes to show how refined and ladylike I am.). Not everyone here is blogging about nappies. And much, much more.

A Saucy Stitch: Making a Harry Potter Cloak
https://asaucystitch.blogspot.com/2014/03/making-harry-potter-cape.html
Monday, 10 March 2014. Making a Harry Potter Cloak. Believe it or not, I have actually been sewing; I was thrust into some frantic stitching activity when my curly girly demanded a Harry Potter dress up outfit for World Book Day at the 11th hour. The cape is an easy peasy pattern taken from the lovely book, Growing Up Sew Liberated. You can easily make this cape in a couple of hours and it can be as cheap as chips if you get yourself some bargain fabric. I'll finish with my favourite spell; RICTUSEMPRA!

The sometimes funny, sometimes serious, sometimes sad thoughts of a mad grandma. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. May 20, 2016. We all get so wrapped up in our lives, that until something happens to stop us in our tracks, we just carry on in our little bubble. Recently a few things have happened, within the family and to friends, which have made realise how much I have to be thankful for. A car can be replaced…even though it was his pride and joy.
