http://elfwren.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Sabbatical in the Fall :-). It's a good year so far. I'll be researching barnacles in the fall for my sabbatical. I'm looking forward to the time off and the time to do research. Also I got reviews back on a manuscript revision and it should (with more revisions) be heading off to being published in the next 6 months. Woohoo! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). On the road to somewhere: Snowman Diversity
http://plantecologist.blogspot.com/2007/02/snowman-diversity.html
On the road to somewhere. In which a plant ecologist explores botany, fiber arts, and other interesting roadside attractions. Tuesday, February 6, 2007. I was able to capture several snowpersons. Before they melted, and I would like to present them here. There were well dressed snow people. This little guy was one of my favorites. He was about 1 foot tall. Several, pure white varieties. There was a snow dog. This guy - love his hat and the pose of his arms. A snow person greats the day with enthusiasm.

On the road to somewhere. In which a plant ecologist explores botany, fiber arts, and other interesting roadside attractions. Monday, May 5, 2008. All we lost was sleep. As those of you who are in the KC area know (and perhaps the rest of you know as well? Thursday night very strong storms blew through the area between 1 and 2 am. Here in Independence, we had 82 mile per hour winds blow through ahead of what they are calling a bow echo. In fact, our luck in this incident was amazing. 1 If the branch had ...

Been looking back over my blog, and I love being reminded of things I had forgotten about. For example, this post on snowman diversity. As such, I have decided I need to put time back into my blog, for myself, though I hope my friends and family will return to reading this blog and hopefully enjoy it. Monday, July 20, 2015. Whale of Seven Years. As of July 15, Mister Splashy Pants has been part of our family for seven years. Seven years! And I have rarely posted since her kittenhood. We are far away and miss her right now, but she is certainly guarding the in our absence, and likely protecting us from unprotected upholstery*. Happy joining our family day, Mister Splashy Pants. Protected upholstery has a nice layer of short white hairs upon it. Labels: mister splashy pants. July 20, 2015 at 9:46 PM.

Sparkling Squirrel Year: Glowing Update
http://sparklingsquirrel.blogspot.com/2015/08/glowing-update.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Glowing year hasn't quite sparked friends to action the way that other themes have. Perhaps that is the nature of "glow". I do, however, have some glowing things to report at this midpoint. The luminous jellyfish at the Vancouver Aquarium didn't transfix Dianthus quite the way the jellyfish at the National Aquarium in Baltimore had five years prior, but they were still pretty cool. Saturn looked just like this, (but smaller and with five moons). Glow myself into shape. Once in ...
