ftlife3: November 2010

Saturday, 27 November 2010. A Fine Layer of Snow. While northern counties ground to a halt with an excess of the white stuff, we soldiered on: Having wrapped up well, Tim T and I planned a route across the top from Birdlip to Painswick. The branches were decorated with frost and the mud had conveniently frozen underfoot. We have slowed the video down so it's not so scary: film. Sunday, 21 November 2010. Saturday, 13 November 2010. Surely the weather couldn't be as bad as they predicted? Posted by The FTs. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A car park with a view: Looking over the sand dun. Woolacombe on an early May Bank Holiday? Dashingly pleasing on the eye, adventurous to the point of unbelievability and vaguely intelligent to the point of certainty.

Sunday, August 31, 2008. With summer running out fast, we teamed up with the Woods for a day of full-on relaxing. Warm water and sultry sunshine provided an excuse to test various watercraft in more imaginative ways: One-legged sailboarding and child-powered canoeing proved most popular. Later we reclined al fresco next to a glowing chiminera, watching the stars until the lids started to drop. Posted by The FTs. Friday, August 29, 2008. Posted by The FTs. Sunday, August 24, 2008. Wednesday, 29 December 2010. On Wednesday, we went North to Mylor Bridge, walking in the mist, following the creek around to Restronguet Passage. Sunday, 26 December 2010. All the FTs, energised by piles of turkey sandwiches and lashings of mulled wine, gave the snow one last thrashing ahead of a threatened thaw. Our white knuckle ride video. Hopefully captures the essence of quality family time. Saturday, 25 December 2010. Friday, 24 December 2010. Tuesday, 21 December 2010. This is us practising until ...

Sunday, 23 May 2010. If You Go Down To The Woods Today. You're only young once so enjoy yourself! We made a movie to go with the song. Friday, 14 May 2010. The loops of the River Severn from the Blaize Bailey viewpoint. Staying at Whitemead in the Forest of Dean combined a base for woodland walks, with all of the benefits of saunas and steam rooms. Advice from a local led us to a fantastic bluebell valley and views across the Severn. A video. Doesn't do justice to the beauty of it all, but there you go.

Sunday, 21 February 2010. Exmoor To The Sea. With Exmoor blanketed in snow, the drive to Watersmeet was memorable. We walked down beside the river. To Lynmouth for a roast dinner and seaviews before the climb back. After enjoying the wildlife, fresh air and the tinkling water, we found ourselves in need of an afternoon nap. The Snow Must Go On. Driving through fog and snow made our February surf. As special as ever. With the water a roasting 7 degrees and the sun out nothing could spoil our day.

Sunday, September 30, 2007. A perfect evening at Woolacombe in 4' swell was followed by a sunny day at Westward Ho in 4" swell as we explored a new venue where parking is free and the waves are "After you Sir." rather than the normal bun-fight at the popular spots. A place we hope to see more of (don't tell everyone! As the autumn brings the promise of surfing decent waves closer. Posted by The FTs. Posted by The FTs. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
