This was the perfect excuse for me to pick one of them up. After finishing The Handmaids Tale I'm sad it took me so long because it was sooo good! I have to say it h...

Shi's Eating: March 2009

http://shiseating.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 29, 2009. My friend Smiles introduced me to a lovely little brunch place on Restaurant Row a few weeks ago. On various websites, the food is described as "eclectic and international" but their brunch fare is.regular brunch stuff. Albeit, delicious brunch stuff. The bill came out to be just a little less than $20, I believe, so that combined with the lovely company made the poor service worth it. Avenue between 50 th. Monday, March 23, 2009. Sunday, May 31, 2009. Although I will say, EVERY time I run in a race, I honestly convince myself that they forgot to put the 3rd mile marker up (or in the case of my 5Ks, the 2nd mile). Amazing how the brain does that. Anyway, this is the t-shirt we got:. What was great about this race was that they gave us a little backpack with an energy drink and instant yakisoba with chopsticks. Yum! Andmy mom had come into the city to surprise me at my race! I was really impressed with this movie! It was the perfec...

Shi's Eating: My Favorite Things Part II

http://shiseating.blogspot.com/2010/02/my-favorite-things-part-ii.html

Monday, February 22, 2010. My Favorite Things Part II. So to go along with my Favorite Things Part II, I thought I would end my last post on Blogger (fingers crossed) with. My official new domain name (and favorite thing of the moment):. It's still a work in progress and very much a labor of love. My good friends Zach, Brad, and Erica have been instrumental in helping me - possibly the most computer tech-illiterate person in their 20s. Favorite Things = good friends, good recipes, and a new blog!

Shi's Eating: April 2009

http://shiseating.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 30, 2009. A Little Gardening of Our Own. In keeping with the Spring-theme, I thought I would share with you all my own gardening experience today. I went to Westchester to visit my sister to hang out, do a little wedding prep, and get some errands done. One of the errands including planting the seedlings my sister has been growing in her condo. She had planted tomatoes, parsley, baby's breath, and lettuce (random, I know). Clearly, the seedlings on the very right were not doing so well.

Shi's Eating: My Favorite Things Part I

http://shiseating.blogspot.com/2010/02/my-favorite-things-part-i.html

Thursday, February 18, 2010. My Favorite Things Part I. I'm still trying to work out the kinks of my new blog but I promise it really really is coming soon! Since I'm saving up my recipe and restaurant review posts for when the new blog is up and running, I thought I would share with you some of my favorite things! I can't think of a better flavor combination than peanut butter and chocolate - am I right? Ever since I went to Max Brenner. And it is certainly dreamy. Lastly, I present to you. The most add...

Shi's Eating: January 2010

http://shiseating.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 22, 2010. For a few weeks now, Beth. Has been telling me that she got me a "surprise" for my blog but was waiting on it to ship. I could not for the life of me figure out what it could be so imagine my surprise. When she presented me with Glo Bars made by Angela from Oh She Glows. A blog I occasionally read. Angela had been sending out shipments to some of our favorite bloggers and I had to say, I was very curious about them. They're vegan granola bars and an off-shoot of this recipe.

Shi's Eating: Bruschetta

http://shiseating.blogspot.com/2009/07/bruschetta.html

Wednesday, July 22, 2009. A couple weeks ago, I made a lovely bruschetta using ingredients I had on hand. During one of my Whole Foods splurges, I had purchased a tub of mixed olives, which were on sale so I decided to jazz up my bruschetta with it! Again, this is another great summertime treat because it doesn't require an oven or stove and take less than 10 minutes to make. 1 1/2 cups of chopped tomatoes (about two small tomatoes). 1/3 cup chopped red onion. 1/3 cup chopped olives. Shake, shake, shake!

Shi's Eating: July 2009

http://shiseating.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 31, 2009. A few weeks ago, my lovely co-worker Katy and I found ourselves getting snacks quite frequently during the week. While I can say we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our treats, we thought it may be a good idea to limit the number of days in a week we got dessert. Therefore, we decided to only go once a week and make it a special occasion. Everytime I'm in the area for dinner, I always stop by here for dessert! Katy and I both got three rainbow cookies. It set me back $3! And two, t...

Shi's Eating: Max Brenner

http://shiseating.blogspot.com/2009/05/max-brenner.html

Sunday, May 10, 2009. I had always wanted to go to Max Brenner. Because of my immense love of chocolate, but never had the occasion to do so. With Guy in town and our friends leaving for India soon, it was the perfect opportunity to indulge and visit the one in Union Square. We arrived at 5:00 so there were no lines! When you first walk in, you notice the intense, beautiful smell of chocolate. There is no other smell better than the scent of chocolate.don't you agree? Flat Sarah also enjoyed the treats!

Getting By

Saturday, March 24, 2012. There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't. -unknown. Don't comment and tell me there are typos in that last sentence. If you do, I rest my case. Anyway, I've noticed some interesting drawings popping up around my home. Like on my white french doors. And on the basement wall. I was about to accuse Finn of defiling my home, seeing that the inscriptions are clearly crude ones and zeroes. But then I stumbled upon this. Anyway, Finn ...

Be inspired and motivated. The Beauty Within Us. July 3, 2015. The world we live in now has a very superficial view on what beauty is. People spend endless time and endless money on enhancing themselves to the idea they hold of what beauty is.Now I am all for people doing whatever they want to to feel comfortable in their skin but I often ponder on whether they work half as hard to make themselves beautiful beyond their physical appearance. Getting By in Alaska. A LIGHT-HEARTED PERSPECTIVE ON MOTHERHOOD, MARRIAGE, AND MOOSE. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. I Think I'm Losing It.
