Gluten Free Chow: March 2011
http://glutenfreechow.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 28, 2011. Sometimes I wonder if our food cravings don't come from more of a texture desire, than a taste desire. Like, a simple Saturday lunch on the patio—cool breeze blowing, the bees buzzing all over the lavender—lunch is a simple tuna sandwich on gluten free bread, and my husband wanted chips to go with it. Was it the chip he really wanted? Or was it the satisfying crunch, the salty-tangy bite, the crispy texture? Here is how it is done:. 2 cups shredded cabbage (red or green). Toss the...

Monday, August 29, 2011. Sweet and Sour Meatballs. I was raised in what I call the Betty Crocker kitchen. My mother, being an exceptional wife to my dad and and even better mother of young children in the '70s and '80s made dinner each and every night. .And we sat around the table as a family and had dinner! A lost art it seems.). I loved these growing up. Coming home from school to meet the sour-sweet smell coming from the Crockpot, wafting through the door when I would walk in. This is so easy, all the...

Gluten Free Chow: September 2011
http://glutenfreechow.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 26, 2011. I hear this dish comes from fisherman on the docks in Italy. A working man's food. It makes sense to me, in the old village ports of Italy, that one might take what was left in the bottom of the boat at the end of the day, carry it home to his wife who would brilliantly, yet effortlessly make this incredible stew from scraps. 8226; 2 tablespoons olive oil. 8226; 1 large onion, thinly sliced or diced. 8226; 1 small eggplant cut into small dice (about 2 cups). 8226; 1 pound fres...
