Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: September 2014
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, 29 September 2014. Retro fabric design for this weeks Spoonflower contest and other fabric designs. It's been quite a while since I entered a Spoonflower fabric design contest. This weeks challenge was chairs and tables and in my back catalogue of designs I had a retro chair fabric which I always felt lacked a bit of oomph (see pic below) so I decided to rework it. Also reworked this last week was another of my butterfly waltz fabric designs. Tuesday, 23 September 2014. I was delighted to find ou...

Time 4 Tea & Cake: GROW YOUR BLOG !
http://jotime4teaandcake.blogspot.com/2014/01/grow-your-blog.html
Friday, 24 January 2014. What a wonderful place to spend hours floating around in the lives. Of some of the most talented and gifted people. There's so much colour and creativity. I've spent many hours drinking tea and entering the homes. Of these lovely people. For me this year is all about the journey not the destination, and new beginnings. I wanted to record this new and exciting journey. I keep a personal journal where I write pages and pages of my deepest feelings and emotions. I (We) love to create.

The Compound Word Project: November 2012
http://compoundwordproject.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
The Compound Word Project. Monday, November 19, 2012. Round one - the answers. So, the post you've been waiting for - it's Monday evening and here are the answers:. I think everybody got this one correct. Just a starter to ease you into the game. This one caused a few more problems. Incorrect, but plausible answers included polycotton (which I thought was very inspired). A few guesses of spotless for this one, which I totally see the logic behind. Almost all guessed correctly. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

The Compound Word Project: April 2013
http://compoundwordproject.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
The Compound Word Project. Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Round two - the answers. Time for the head scratching to end - here are the answers for round two. Lots of people told me they found this round trickier than the last. I think, perhaps the photographers were a touch more oblique than the last round and there were a couple of diptychs which were clearly harder to solve than others. I allowed beachcombing and beachcomber too). A fairly straightforward one, which almost everybody got right - wavy hair.

Friday, May 22, 2015. This last week has been dedicated to the garden. While we planted a lot of vegetables and eagerly await the Summer months to help them grow, but right now we are up to our elbows in lettuce. This is a good thing, fresh salad nearly every night is a very good thing. A barrel full of mint is close to the kitchen door. it smells so lovely. May 22, 2015 at 12:44 PM. You are amazing, our food frowning plans seem to have fizzed out to nothing this year. Sigh. May 22, 2015 at 11:51 PM.

Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: February 2015
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, 27 February 2015. Fabric contest, more neckwarmers and the motorway mermaid. Strange sort of month, not the best so pleased it's nearly done. I very quickly knocked up a fabric design for this weeks Spoonflower contest as I've not joined in for ages, the subject was Cubist Cats. Loads of entries as cats are always popular, here's mine. More neckwarmers have been crocheted as it's still blooming freezing in the house and you can't have too many neckwarmers! Friday, 13 February 2015. Some renovatio...

Friday, 28 August 2015. My fave veggie cafe is closing and other bits. The end of an era looms as my favourite veggie cafe in Bridlington, The Little Organic Bakery (formerly Bean There), is closing sometime in September. My friends who own it are going in to semi-retirement and looking forward to doing other things now they have their first grand child. It's a real shame but nothing stands still and I have some lovely memories of happy times with friends and food from my trips to the cafe over the years.

Tuesday, 26 August 2014. Two vintage book style needlecases. Normal day to day design work has taken priority of late and I have a couple of interesting logo designs on the boil which I will reveal when they have been decided on and finalised. In the meantime here are a couple of crafty things recently completed. I do quite like making sewing needlecases and I've indulged in having some of my own books from when I was a toddler in the late 60's, printed onto fabric and stitched into a book style. Other m...

The Wittering Knitter: Crafty Goodness
http://witteringknitter.blogspot.com/2011/02/crafty-goodness.html
Monday, 21 February 2011. Before I show you what I have been crafting I have a few home pics for you. Firstly, my favourite little birds that visit the bird feeders are long-tailed tits. Seriously, how cute are these little fellas? They hang around in gangs, we often have eight of them at once. It is known that they will all help to look after the young of the gang so not only are they cute but they are caring little fellas too. Bless! Wouldn't you love a pair? I think they're fab :). I fell in love with...
