Growing Wests

Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Adoption- the 2017 version. November is National Adoption Month. I've tried to write this multiple times, but I've just been in a very weird mood for most of 2017- a mood strongly related to adoption- and I worry it's coming off dark and twisty. Feelings. Big ones. If you are going to read this, please hear it from a place of truth- our truth. I'm (probably)(over)sharing because I think it's important. Hard, messy, complex, and a bunch of other stuff- for all parties. This yea...

Growing Wests: The Pledge of Allegiance

http://growingwests.blogspot.com/2009/09/pledge-of-allegiance.html

Monday, September 14, 2009. The Pledge of Allegiance. What a fantastic morning! I've watched it about 87 times now and my favorite part is still when he turns to smile at the camera at the very end =). Pulling it off and we barely did. We were both SO flustered up until the very last minute, but it was sooo worth it! Afterward, Ms.Venable asked Layla what she thought and she said right into the mic in front of her whole school, "That was great and it is very,. I think we were all crying. We didnt mean to...

Growing Wests: Bring it, old man. I dare you.

http://growingwests.blogspot.com/2009/05/bring-it-old-man-i-dare-you.html

Thursday, May 7, 2009. Bring it, old man. I dare you. Dear old man across the street,. Let me tell you a few things. 2) In case you haven't noticed, it's been raining for 7,000 days strait. And in the brief moments it. Stopped, like say now for instance at 8:16am, my husband is at work and not here to mow. Surely you don't expect me to apologize for the fact that my husband has a job that supports his family. If my lawn bothers you that much, by all means, come right over and mow it yourself. While you w...

Growing Wests: December 2014

http://growingwests.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 26, 2014. Christmas. I cried some. Last year I cried because Roman wasn't here. This year I cried because he is. And then again every time he squealed with thank yous. The first night he opened gifts he thanked and thanked and delighted and overflowed. And then. He found out he got to take it all home. He hadn't even known that and was still all full of happiness and gratitude. Precious. And more times too. We managed to find the Number 1 thing on Cale's list (that we never intended him ...

Growing Wests: January 2015

http://growingwests.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 23, 2015. I know the "week" is technically almost over, but I still wanted to share our menu. Those of you that have been following these posts for healthy ideas, this will not benefit you :). This week's inspiration started when Roman asked what Mei Mei ate when she was a baby living in "Anna Gray's New Crown". No matter how many times we stress the enunciation of Ukraine, he calls it "Anna Gray's New Crown". That question led to discussion of what we. Charleston (Me): Shrimp and Grits.

Growing Wests: All the pictures. In SUMMERRRRR.

http://growingwests.blogspot.com/2015/05/all-pictures-in-summerrrrr.html

Friday, May 29, 2015. All the pictures. In SUMMERRRRR. May is December-crazy, so here are some things that I would have written about if I had the time:. Anna Gray's first makeover. The girls' talent show. Saved a baby bunny from our dog's mouth, Cale named it Jordan and we stared at it for a day. Roman had a fantastic first birthday party. Anna Gray found food coloring. Layla was Rosa Parks. Cale had a blast in his first season of flag football. End of school year - lots here. To keep us entertained&#46...

God Has Heard: Progress update

http://mjj-johnson.blogspot.com/2012/11/progress-update.html

Monday, November 5, 2012. Busy times around here! Anyway, Jayden is doing AMAZING! He's eating better, for sure. Last week he ate (and loved! Some teriyaki chicken with broccoli. He also loved some BBQ shrimp and green beans on Saturday night. We are working on switching him from his absolute favorite cereal in the ENTIRE world, Fruity Pebbles (yikes! To Cinnamon Chex. Eventually, I plan to replace his cereal with a bowl of homemade Gluten Free Granola mix, but I have to take baby steps with him. This bl...

http://allaboutmande.blogspot.com/2015/08/l-is-for-library-wwdts.html

All about m.e. Sunday, August 9, 2015. L is for library - wwdts15. We spent a lot of time at the library this summer. The events they had were so fun and quite frankly, pretty amazing. We went to the Big Hero 6 party - watched the movie, did a craft, and ate some free Subway (I think Malia had 5 little sandwiches). Insert the sweet picture I thought I took of them watching the movie .*. I was so shocked, I didn't even think to take a picture. I know I didn't take a picture that time .*. Q is for question...

Everything's Bigger...: March 2008

http://thejuillerats.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 30, 2008. Well, three out of my four final four teams actually made it. I didn't pick UCLA.I don't know why, I just hoped that Duke would make it to the Final Four.not because I really like the team, but I really like Coach K. They let me down really early just like my Commodores! Felt like Julia Roberts must have in Pretty Woman when she went shopping and the store clerks were so rude? Thursday, March 13, 2008. Bought For A Price. Sharing Moments of Faith, Food, Family, and Fodder. Do you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God. Everything's Bigger...: April 2008

http://thejuillerats.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 8, 2008. How do babies know that it has been 3 hours and it is now time to eat again? Do they have some sort of internal alarm clock that goes off every 3 hours? They are fine at 2 hours and 59 minutes but when it hits 3 hours the screaming begins. Why do babies ALWAYS poop in clean diapers? Why can't they do all of their business in the dirty diaper that they are wearing rather than mess up the clean diaper that I just put on? Friday, April 4, 2008. Have you seen this? Have you seen this?

All about m.e. Sunday, August 9, 2015. O is for one direction - wwdts'15. I can't remember my first concert but I know for sure it wasn't to see the hottest boy band on the planet when I was 8 years old. This lucky girl got the chance though and she was so excited. I want them to autograph my sign. How do we do that? She got the tickets way back in December from her Aunt Gina when late July at Chiefs stadium didn't sound so miserably hot. Growing with Grace

A Journal of Thoughts. Friday, December 23, 2016. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6. Sunday, June 21, 2015. I've been watching my dad, lately. Just like I did with my mom I've been noticing his actions and responses to the situations that we find ourselves in. My dad is encouraging, strong, and full of love. And I want to show y'all that that's exactly how I see him. If I was ev...
