Growing with Grace: May 2013
http://growingwgrace.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
A Journal of Thoughts. Sunday, May 19, 2013. A Walk of a Lifetime. I went for a walk around the lake the other day that's about 1 1/2. There's a sidewalk surrounding the lake where most people walk, and in occasional spots you'll see people right up to, or even in the lake, fishing or wading or just hanging out. I normally just walk around the lake on the walkway provided, but this time about 3/4. Of the way around I decided to go and sit on the rocks by the water for a while, just thinking and praying.
Growing with Grace: November 2013
http://growingwgrace.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
A Journal of Thoughts. Thursday, November 14, 2013. When life gets blurry. Yes, something else I found on Pinterest. I saw it and it just stuck out at me. Maybe you can't see real far ahead. You may not know what the outcome of something will be. Perhaps you're afraid to take a leap of faith because you did once before, it turned out bad, and you don't want the same result to happen this time. Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Why do we hear that it's such a good thing to have? What about prayer is so important?
Growing with Grace: My Mother
http://growingwgrace.blogspot.com/2015/05/my-mother.html
A Journal of Thoughts. Sunday, May 10, 2015. I've been thinking a lot about my mother, lately. For the past couple of months I've been noticing the way she conducts herself on a regular basis. I've seen her attitude, her demeanor, and her grace. I've been noticing her. I know almost every person says this about their mom and I think each person really believes it. I know I definitely believe what I'm about to say: my mom is the best mom in the world! The most gracious person I know is my mom. She alw...

A Journal of Thoughts. Sunday, April 7, 2013. The Most Wonderful Place. I once heard that there was a Place, a Place where all one's dreams come true. A Place where you need not fear the slightest harm. A Place where everyone wears a happy face. A Place where chores are not a bear to do. A Place where it does neither rain nor storm. But of this Place I was sure. I would travel the world and find it on my own, and prove to all the people that I was not mad. I stood on Europe's shores, but it was n...I beg...

Mountain Mama: Braided Stromboli (Sandwiches)
http://marysilverberg.blogspot.com/2013/08/braided-stromboli-sandwiches.html
Friday, August 9, 2013. These braided sandwiches are really, really good. Company loves them, and you can make them a day ahead of time for no-stress entertaining. They also freeze and pack well. They make a very attractive sandwich platter. Perfect with salads for a ladies' lunch or shower, and very popular at pot-luck dinners. Definitely a family favorite! This recipe comes from my dear friend, Jeannie Henry, but I did tweak it a little. 1 – cup warm milk (40 seconds in microwave). 2 – medium eggs.

That assembly had the best key to understanding the passage that I’ve ever come across. “Head” can mean literal (physical) head, or figurative (spiritual) head. This is crucial. When a woman uncovers her physical head she also uncovers her figurative head, the man. Man or mankind is seen. When a man covers his physical head, he also covers his figurative head, Christ. Christ is hidden. Do you see the shame in this? 8220;… which t...

Tuesday, February 28, 2012. This is one of the first things that I learned how to cook when I was newly married. The recipe comes from a dear lady, named Sharon. This casserole has survived the test of time, and is still a family favorite. Plus, if you are entertaining, it's easy to make a day ahead of time to help keep the stress level down. Thank God for all of you special women who helped me with cooking! 1 Wal-Mart bag of chicken thighs. 1 pint fresh mushrooms, cleaned and sliced. Oh, so so yummy!

Saturday, April 28, 2012. 10,000 Honey Bees. In the spring, if a honeybee colony has grown large enough, swarms of thousands of bees with a new queen will split off to look for a new nest. It takes a swarm anywhere from a few hours to a few days to inspect its surroundings before it finally flies to its newly chosen home.". This swarm came from a nest two houses down from us and settled on this tree stump in our next door neighbor's back yard. Estimated 10,000 to 11,000 bees! Then he vacuumed some more.

Thursday, January 3, 2013. Psalm 121 Rocky Mountains. Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Twists on Twister (The Game). Our family recently got out our Twister game and had a ton of fun, but it wasn't long before we tired of following the rules. So, we made up our own "twists" on the game and had a ball! We actually have two game mats that we joined together with wide clear tape. Holding Hands with a Partner, Using Hands and Feet. Back to Back, Arms Linked (Feet Only). Mom and Dad Give it a Whirl.

I've tried to write this multiple times, but I've just been in a very weird mood for most of 2017- a mood strongly related to adoption- and I worry it's coming off dark and twisty. Feelings.
