Although you can’t see it in the photo, at the moment this was taken, a forest fire was beginning on the east (left) peak in the photo. What I didn't expect. Last year my daughter and I came up with the idea of raising chickens in our backyard. After a little discussion and a lot of research we were well on our way. Our goal is to raise our chickens for eggs. This is a journal of our experience and learning. April 8, 2010. Purchased our first two day old chicks. (Black Cochins). April 17, 2010.
