Technology - Second Year. Wednesday, 15 May 2013. I selected Ilford Gallerie gloss and matte papers and used the Canon 5250 printer to perform my calibration on. I thought the gloss paper had an obvious increase in saturation and brightness across the whole image and it is this image which I printed for the final ringaround probably because of that reason. The following are screen shots of my workflow with a screen capture of the over layed gamuts in colorsync. Adobe RGB overlayed on Ilford Gloss profile.

After my second calibration of the Eizo monitor, i found strikingly good results as expected from such a high caliber monitor. The luminance target value needed to adjusting and minimal corrections to the RGB values were needed to achieve target values as I have a schneaking suspicion that the monitor was calibrated just before I did it. I chose to show some techniques behind creating motion .gif images, where the final output shows an image which has some animation in it. It is useful for creating images for the web for advertising or where video isnt accepted and you wish to convey a message through that medium. Technology - Second Year. Tuesday, 2 April 2013. I photographed a building at the Arboretum for my HDR photograph. I wanted to shoot a subject with minimal movement such as leaves and grass. So I referenced the technique used by anime artists to show that the subject is looking at something cute. They always put two catchlights in the eyes, either horizontally or vertically, I chose vertically so my lighting would be of the hollywood style from straight above and below.
