Healing Haiti JM: Day 1: Travel Day / First Impressions

http://www.healinghaiti-jm.blogspot.com/2015/08/day-1-travel-day-first-impressions.html

Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Day 1: Travel Day / First Impressions. The attitudes of the youth in Haiti were amazing! All the neighborhood boys were so gracious and respectful to us upon seeing us. Their faith in God is very strong. One of the boys started to sing and got our group of youth involved in their activities. The guest house we are staying in is very cozy and colorful! There is a patio where we can view the whole city. So far our experience has been great! Hannah Hasbargen, Elijah Kracht.

Monday, February 10, 2014. God is Enough by Steve Duede. I wondered why any one in Haiti would even want to follow God? On the outside looking in, they don’t seem very blessed? The poverty level here is unbelievable. Then it occurred to me that maybe, because they have nothing, God is everything. He’s all they have and all they need. Yes, God is still good and worthy to be praised, regardless of our circumstances! I knew that but now I saw it firsthand. Another lesson learned in Haiti. Where do I start?

Friday, December 6, 2013. Day 5 By Emily and Kalley. So many times in uncertain situations, our first instinct is to think of ourselves. But when we take the time to reach out and offer a word of encouragement or meet a need of another, we see a world beyond ourselves. God uses these moments to stretch us and grow us, and what starts out as a crazy moment turns into a beautiful moment. Thursday, December 5, 2013. Day 4 by Heather Siverhus. Today was day four for our amazing team of sixteen women. For I w...
