Trail Blazer Farm: AKF Project: Fancy
http://tbfstories.blogspot.com/2015/08/akf-project-fancy.html
Sunday, August 16, 2015. As I walked her out of her stall she pulled me over to the grain bin and I yanked on her lead rope, close to tears. It was embarrassing for a little kid, but Fancy took one look at me and sighed as only a horse can. She straightened up and walked herself to the cross ties and gave me the, "Ok kid. I'll behave," look. Fancy was pretty easy to customize, she is my third Lady Phase which makes it an official conga. Interestingly enough I only have bay pintos on the LP mold. ...I'm a...

Timaru Star II: May 2015
http://timarustarii.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2015. A Trip to the Flint Hills. On May 17th we drove part of the Flint Hills. This is a place where large herds of horses roam in extensive pastures. Since George is from Kansas, he knew about the Flint Hills, and I'd known about them from reading Thomas Hinkle horse and dog stories ( Black Storm. Etc) Nonetheless, when I first got out amongst them, I was astonished - me, a Coloradan. (Scenic drive reference link further on down.). Close enough, it dawns: those are horses, not cows!

Timaru Star II: December 2014
http://timarustarii.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 6, 2014. Let's start with Breyer's Show Blanket Collection. These are all 9 currently known to exist. I acquired these a few at a time, some for amazingly little (thank you Carrie! The light blue Devon, many people's favorite, and the AQHA and the BFest dark blue I've had since the beginning - a phrase which means 'since they were first offered,' back in 2000 to 2003. Since then, no Show Blanket Collection blankets per se have been released. But hey, Breyer has been plenty busy put...

Timaru Star II: September 2014

Friday, September 19, 2014. TSII #453 begun: Welts, Rawhide and Stirrups. This particular picture was taken last Friday, the 12th. It's the beginning of TSII #453, Feldman's Working Roper, the third saddle under construction this year. If fate is kind it'll be the third one finished this year! When I think about the old days when I finished dozens of saddles in a year (1984 etc.)! Sigh but those had barely a fraction of today's detail. This saddle, built in 2004 (oh gosh it's ten years old! Changed every...

Shady Creek Farm: January 2015
http://shadycreekhorses.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 1, 2015. I've been thinking lately about my hobby goals are for this year, so this is what I've come up with so far that I'd like to accomplish in 2015:. Get my collection cataloged, photographed, and organized. I spend a lot of 2013 and 2014 getting my collection out of storage boxes and set up on display in my office/pony room/craft space. But this year I'd like to get things better organized and documented. One organization project in the works. Name a bunch of unnamed horses. Such i...

Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Midwinter's Night Ball - Show Day #1. Sorry for the delay in updating this blog again and getting on with my Midwinter's Night Ball show report. I'm currently taking three classes this semester in college, one of which is an 8 week (aka, intensive) course online, and the amount of schoolwork I have right now is sort of kicking my butt. But anyway, let's continue with this show report, shall we? Epiphany in a Hunter In Hand showmanship entry. Other Performance (Scene/Non-Competi...

Trail Blazer Farm: The AKF Project
http://tbfstories.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-akf-project.html
Thursday, August 13, 2015. These lovely customs are portraits of the most important horses in my lives. When they came into my life they each taught me something important. I'm going to give each model it's own post but for now here is a before and after picture:. And the winner of the long forgotten Caption This contest is Horse Tender Studios! I loved all of them but this comment described the true character of the horse. More for later! August 13, 2015 at 8:46 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

My love for horses… in miniature! Laquo; Boots and a Saddle Stand. Tutorial: Mini Grooming Tote. August 10, 2015 by Nichelle. It’s been ages since I last posted a tutorial on here. I hope you like this one! You’re going to need the PATTERN. First and foremost. (if you need a format other than a PDF please let me know! Fabric of choice (cotton works best in this scale) and 1/8 in ribbon for handles. Needle thread, glue (fabric glue works best) and paint (also optional). With an iron, fold and flatten the ...
