Don’t Buy Granola, It’s So Easy to Make – icooktheblogs

https://icooktheblogs.com/2016/12/28/dont-buy-granola-its-so-easy-to-make

December 28, 2016. Don’t Buy Granola, It’s So Easy to Make. The title of this post really says it all so I won’t elaborate much more. I started making my own granola. This year and I won’t go back to store bought granola ever again. Besides, I’m frugal and you can make three batches of granola for the cost of one organic bag. My most recent find is Maple Pecan Granola. 3 thoughts on “ Don’t Buy Granola, It’s So Easy to Make. December 31, 2016 at 4:45 pm. I’ve always wanted to make my own granola!

Mason Jar Obsessed  – icooktheblogs

https://icooktheblogs.com/2017/01/13/mason-jar-obsessed

January 13, 2017. Just in case you haven’t noticed, I’m obsessed with Mason jars. I use them for anything I can from cocktails to presents. One of my favorite things to use Mason jars for are layered salads. I first wrote about these clever salads last January. They have been a lunchbox staple since. My new favorite Mason jar salad is the Cajun shrimp jar. Which tastes more like a cold shrimp fajita without the carb-filled flour tortillas than a salad. I used my favorite Cajun seasoning blend. You are co...

Crock-Pot Skinny: Just Start Now – icooktheblogs

https://icooktheblogs.com/2016/12/31/crock-pot-skinny-just-start-now

December 31, 2016. Crock-Pot Skinny: Just Start Now. It’s almost the new year and I absolutely hate resolutions. Mostly because folks generally don’t stick to them and why wait until the 1st to do what you can do TODAY! I really don’t know why I don’t use my crock-pot more often. This was super easy to make-only two veggies to chop and toss everything, including raw chicken that was practically still frozen, in the pot. Of course, I decided against the packaged taco seasoning. January 10, 2017 at 6:34 pm.

Find Balance: Eat Cupcakes  – icooktheblogs

https://icooktheblogs.com/2017/01/02/find-balance-eat-cupcakes

January 2, 2017. Find Balance: Eat Cupcakes. I know, I know. New year, new you. Right? I’m all for self-improvement. However, we know most resolutions fail. I believe fitness happens in the gym and the kitchen. It doesn’t have a certain look-it’s what you want for your health. To that end, my fitness journey is about balance. And so, despite the fact that it’s January, I’m baking cupcakes. One Bowl Red Velvet Cupcakes. What I did with the cupcakes I scraped from the pan. January 2, 2017 at 3:09 pm. You a...

Travel Smart – icooktheblogs

January 10, 2017. This trip I’ve packed my homemade granola. Protein oatmeal, raw almonds, and my favorite Nature Box. Snacks. They all fit in a large freezer bag, packed tight in my checked luggage. A little effort and planning ahead can help you find balance while traveling and stick to those resolutions. Travel smart! One thought on “ Travel Smart. A little Swiss, a little Canadian. i like food and so do you

I like food and so do you. Friday, September 3, 2010. So here's how it happened. The first time I made this it worked beautifully. My curds weren't ever so firm that I could cut them with a knife, like the instructions said, but it worked well. The second time I tried to make it with 1% milk and accidentally added 1 c. water for some insane reason. BAD. I ended up with boiling milk all over my arms and no cheese. In half an hour! It's like the pinnacle of domestic awesomeness. Knead for several minutes- ...
