Jen and Alex's Adventures

Jen and Alex's Adventures. Blog of Jen and Alex's trip to Southeast Asia. Friday, September 5, 2008. Diving, Diving and More Diving. We ended our last day in Siem Reap with a return trip to the largest temple Angkor Wat in the morning to more fully enjoy the temple when we weren't too tired. It was definitely worth the return visit by ourselves to wander around again and enjoy the beauty of the architecture in a different light of day. The accomodation or location - they were right! The sun actually went...

Jen and Alex's Adventures: Saigon

http://jenandalexadventures.blogspot.com/2008/08/saigon.html

Jen and Alex's Adventures. Blog of Jen and Alex's trip to Southeast Asia. Monday, August 25, 2008. It is true though that there isn't much to see in the actual city - except there are a lot more museums here than in Hanoi. We've spent all three of our full days on tours outside of the city. And we're definitely looking forward to our next guesthouse with a pool to weather the warm afternoons! Posted by Alex and Jen at 4:31 AM. Subscribe to Post Comments [ Atom. Jen and Alex's Adventures: Chiang Mai to our first Vietnamese Adventures

http://jenandalexadventures.blogspot.com/2008/08/chiang-mai-to-our-first-vietnamese.html

Jen and Alex's Adventures. Blog of Jen and Alex's trip to Southeast Asia. Sunday, August 17, 2008. Chiang Mai to our first Vietnamese Adventures. Following the cooking class we headed over to the night market with a couple of Swiss travellers. We were unbelievably stuffed from 4 dishes though and the food tasting had to wait. We did get a bit of shopping done and just enjoyed wandering the markets. Our last day in Chiang Mai was an organized tour - although we were the only two on it! We are also missing...

Jen and Alex's Adventures: The Beauty of Halong Bay

http://jenandalexadventures.blogspot.com/2008/08/beauty-of-halong-bay.html

Jen and Alex's Adventures. Blog of Jen and Alex's trip to Southeast Asia. Thursday, August 21, 2008. The Beauty of Halong Bay. Forget about New York, Hanoi really is a city that never sleeps. The night before we left for Halong Bay, we went to bed at 12:30am to the sounds of heavy machinery on a construction site next door; and then were later awoken at 3:30am by the sound of a lady arguing with someone else on the street outside. The food on the entire trip was amazing, but the first lunch was the best ...

Jen and Alex's Adventures: The Temples of Angkor

http://jenandalexadventures.blogspot.com/2008/08/temples-of-angkor.html

Jen and Alex's Adventures. Blog of Jen and Alex's trip to Southeast Asia. Thursday, August 28, 2008. The Temples of Angkor. This is our 3rd night in Siem Reap, and so far we've spent 2 of the nights just strolling around town. It's a nice, laid-back atmosphere. The roads are closed off in the Downtown core, so it's nice to just walk around - there seem to be a lot of games of hackysack going on in the middle of the streets between the tuk-tuk drivers and some tourists. Jen and Alan in Namibia

Jen and Alan in Namibia. Monday, December 29, 2008. 1 year in Africa. 2 lines from squinting my eyes. 3 year birthday for Katie. 4 seasons of heat red, rain, green, dry yellow. 5 months living in the back of the Kombi. Uncountable needs in this country, and still so much uncertainty about how to be constructively involved. A biologist’s paradise – this year we will remember because, wherever one stops and looks carefully, something wonderful in nature reveals itself. Labels: whats a label? More than half...

Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Today is St. Patrick's Day.  Leprechauns came to my house and messed up my room, left chocolate coins, took cushions off the couch, made my milk green, peed green in the toilets, made our puppy's water green and were naughty. I Don't Think You're Ready...

Tuesday, July 28, 2009. I don't have much to report, but Vera's being very cute today. Saturday, June 27, 2009. Today, we got a new kitten from the APL. After much deliberation, we've decided to call her Vera. For those who have seen Firefly, think of Jayne's gun. Anyway, here's her debut! She's super cute, playful and kind of attached to me. In other words, she's perfect! Plus, her back legs are very long and her feet kind of point inward, so she's really awkward and goofy. I love it. I'm mostly posting...
