I swam the length of the pool four times and the water temperature was absolutely perfect. The air temperature, not so perfect. It feels like your average July day back home in DC.hot and humid! Friday, May 23, 2008. Sometimes it just doesn't matter what you are wearing. I'm headed back to the pool tomorrow.

Adventures of a Triathlete and Open Water Swimmer...: Hawaii Day 3- The 1/2 Ironman had to be cancelled
http://julieoplinger.blogspot.com/2008/12/we-still-cant-swim-in-ocean-because-of.html
Adventures of a Triathlete and Open Water Swimmer. Saturday, December 13, 2008. Hawaii Day 3- The 1/2 Ironman had to be cancelled. We STILL can't swim in the ocean because of the heavy rain here. I have accepted the fact that I will not get in an open water swim here in Hawaii on this trip. And the local pool is closed because the heater is broken and the water is only 75 degrees. Fine with me, but I guess when you have been living here for a while this weather and water temp is "cold". QUOTE OF THE WEEK.

Adventures of a Triathlete and Open Water Swimmer. Monday, December 08, 2008. SCM Zones- Swimmer for a weekend. I think I'm still processing how well I swam last weekend at Rutgers. I learned more from this meet and think that I will be taking a look at how much I really need to actually train in the pool in order to swim fast at meets. Two weeks ago I went to Michigan and swam in a meet there (short course yards) and went the following times:. 50 Back- I almost skipped this one since it was so close to ...

Adventures of a Triathlete and Open Water Swimmer...: April 2008
http://julieoplinger.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Adventures of a Triathlete and Open Water Swimmer. Thursday, April 24, 2008. SCY Nationals- Thoughts before the meet. Next week I am going to my first ever USMS. Thursday, May 1, 2008. But I clearly went out too fast. I'm thinking 5:40, 5:45, 5:50 with 1:41 for the last 150 would give me 18:56 which would be incredible! I will be happy with the 19:22 that I went last year, as long as I swim a smart race, but a stretch goal of breaking 19 minutes isn't out of reach. I'm seeded 4 th. Friday, May 2, 2008.

Adventures of a Triathlete and Open Water Swimmer. Friday, March 21, 2008. Mittens: Safe and Sound. Mittens is a black lab mix who I met a few weeks ago at the Good Dog! Rescue adoption event. She is so sweet and really shy. She was placed in a foster home, but unfortunately. Got out and made her way from Falls Church to my neighborhood, Fairlington. We searched everywhere for her and on Friday I saw her hiding in some brush off Rt. 7. Because. Tucker and Theresa reading over the vet instructions.
