Life in the country with children and chickens! There is no such thing as bad weather…. October 19, 2016. October 19, 2016. 8230; Just unsuitable clothing (Alfred Wainwright or an old German proverb, but either way it’s so true! As we head into autumn our home ed days have to alter slightly. That doesn’t mean we spend more time indoors, probably the opposite; I just have to ensure that I’m more organised and have all the appropriate wet and cold weather gear! We had the most amazing glorious sunshine for...

Life in the country with children and chickens! How did I get an eight year old? October 12, 2016. I have an eight year old! How did that happen? To think that eight years ago I had a (five weeks early) one day old child – I was in the first throes of becoming a new parent, learning things at a hundred miles an hour and feeling hugely overwhelmed by all of it. Do I feel any less overwhelmed now? 8221;) and a trip to @Bristol Science Museum. The journey in was great, mainly due to bumping into a friend on...

Life in the country with children and chickens! When ‘Me time’ results in punishment -7 tips to help prepare children when you go away. June 25, 2016. September 7, 2016. I was lucky enough to have five days of ‘Me time’ in Malta a few weeks ago… Since returning I’ve been ill, hence the delay in writing. I’ve also been punished for going away! I went to Malta with my sister, where we stayed with our Auntie and Uncle (who spend some of the year living over there – lucky them! The journey home was lovely an...

Life in the country with children and chickens! The diary of a child travelling in Steerage on the SS Great Britain. October 19, 2016. As I walked along the dockyard I got my first view of the mighty ship, the SS Great Britain. It was bigger than I expected and I started to feel very excited about the journey we were going on. The noisy crowd hustled and bustled their way towards the gangplank and I felt nervous that I might lose my mummy, daddy and sisters as I was budged and banged along. The diary of ...

Questioning Parenting Skills: Do I Suck As A Parent? – Parenting Pants
http://parentingpants.com/2016/01/questioning-parenting-skills-do-i-suck-as-a-parent
Questioning Parenting Skills: Do I Suck As A Parent? January 17, 2016. As a parent, I often question whether I am doing the right thing. Every situation is different and how we handle it can make a huge difference in the way our child perceives us and the way they handle situations themselves. Is my child going to end up a screaming lunatic if I yell at them for not cleaning up their room? The girl that was working there was sooo nice! It’s the least we can do for the nice thing you did for us! 8221; She...

Playing and learning from home. Reggio Emilia Inspired Provocations. It is the end of the school term. All over the UK school children will go home for a long summer break today, some have already begun. But for us, and many other home educating families, day to day life will hardly change at all. Still, I find myself reflecting back on the ‘school’ year we have had. So many changes have taken place, mostly in my head! That is what I feel I have taken from our first year ‘officially’ home edu...It’...

Bull;October 7, 2009 • 10 Comments. She has, sort of, lost that touch for. Over the years, but she still manages to surprise with melt-in-your-mouth comfort food. Kinda like these stuffed peppers. Who knew such simple ingredients could yield pure love 🙂. Here’s the recipe for love:. 4 large potatoes, peeled and grated. Preheat the oven to 400 F (200 C). Start by removing the tops and the seeds of the peppers. Salt them on the inside. Finely chop the onions and sauté them until soft and translucent.

Inside the mind of a skeptical yogi on her path to find what she considers to be the question of whether true spiritual enlightenment exsists. Tuesday, November 13, 2012. So, the past few days have been quite interesting and to be honest, they have been very eye opening. Okay, so my last post was composed of me snapping and feeling as if things were never going to get better It just so happens the universe presented me with an opportunity to see quite a different perspective.
