Knitting with my shoes off. In which our heroine. Bores the pants off of everyone. Waxes philosophical about knitting, the universe and everything. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Knitting the New Year in. During this brief time away from my blog, I've been doing a lot of knitting. Unfortunately I've also bought more yarn so I'm not actually making any progress in knitting up my stash. I didn't buy yarn randomly, but for specific projects.like socks for my dad and hats for a friend. Nice to see you back!

Knitting with my shoes off. In which our heroine. Bores the pants off of everyone. Waxes philosophical about knitting, the universe and everything. Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Still doing a lot of knitting. Just started a pair of gray socks for my older son. The yarn is great.subtle shading differences that make it really nice. He's in a cold climate this year so I'm planning on lots of knitted stuff for him. A sweater, too, if I can get to it soon enough. December 13, 2013 at 10:25 PM. Season 5, Episode...

Knitting with my shoes off. In which our heroine. Bores the pants off of everyone. Waxes philosophical about knitting, the universe and everything. Thursday, October 31, 2013. Another night without sleep. This doesn't help the stress levels I'm supposed to keep at a minimum. Seriously, I'm not supposed to get stressed out. How the hell can I avoid that? Especially with the hospital visit bill still not showing up yet? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wisconsin, United States. View my complete profile.

NanKnits: On the Needles
http://msnanknits.blogspot.com/2008/08/on-needles.html
Saturday, August 09, 2008. First, thanks to everybody who checks my blog frequently. And apologies that I am one of those bloggers who rarely updates. Whenever I get the Sitemeter report I am surprised that so many of you continue to check on me. Since I had a pattern stitch I liked and was not sure how to keep adjusting it for the increase/decrease, I chose to just knit back and forth and have been surprised at the shaping; perhaps when it is done and blocked it will be straight. Stay tuned.
NanKnits: March 2008

Monday, March 24, 2008. Love Affair with Socks. I continue to adore knitting socks. I have knitted three pair, one in the Lion Brand, one in Tofutsies, and one in Plymouth Yarn's Sockotta I got from Yarn Girls. My daughter visited this weekend and loved the socks so much, I have started her a pair in another color of Sockotta. This is a big thing.she has never been a fan of anything handknitted. These short row toe up socks just fit so good! Wednesday, March 05, 2008. Well, dpns are out and I did not rea...

Friday, February 22, 2008. If anybody is reading this and has any opinion, please post a comment.what did Bernat DO to Cotton Tots? Anyway, a warning to all of you who used to like Cotton Tots.you might not like it so much now. I am going to have to do a lot of prewashing and drying on this one. I actually just ordered some yarn to knit another blanket. It is from DiscontinuedBrandNameYarn and is pictured here. It is a closeout, so grab it while you can! Monday, February 18, 2008. NanKnits: November 2007
http://msnanknits.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 29, 2007. I knitted the beret in a nice Wool of the Andes by Knitpicks. I did not do a gauge swatch, but did drop down a needle size, since I knit loosely. The beret was large on me. Came down somewhere around my nose. So I sewed about a 2" seam up the back and it now fits. I fiddled and fiddled with my calculator and jotted down results. Several times. Then promptly forgot which of the jottings was the final result. Sheesh. Wednesday, November 21, 2007. So thought I would try making t...
NanKnits: Free Yarn

Saturday, August 09, 2008. I still have the purple cotton shawl on the needles, one wool sock to go for my son, and am working on a khaki cotton shrug for fall (it is in the 90's right now and hard to conceive of wearing that thing). But this way, I have lots of things to knit to keep from getting bored! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Knitting with my shoes off. Turtle Girl's Bloggy Thing. NanKnits: Summer Sewing
http://msnanknits.blogspot.com/2008/05/summer-sewing.html
Saturday, May 24, 2008. As usual in the spring, my attention turns to sewing clothing. In this case, pants. Summer weight fabrics are easy to find, work with, and wear. The colors are fun. I have difficulty finding pants since I like pull-on styles that come to my waist. I am a combination of sizes. I do still love knitting socks and have a pair on the needles; great for knitting in the car! My daughter-in-law told me to knit my son a pair of socks, so will do that when I spend a week with them at the be...
NanKnits: Another Shawl Begins
http://msnanknits.blogspot.com/2008/07/another-shawl-begins.html
Tuesday, July 08, 2008. Finally am knitting a little again. Not that I stopped; just that I am enjoying it more and thinking design again. I do have socks on my needle with my favorite Tofutsies yarn. I also am knitting baby hats for Charlotte Knitting Guild charities. Those are fun. A photo will show up in a bit. It sounds like it will be pretty. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Knitting with my shoes off. Turtle Girl's Bloggy Thing. The Pioneer Woman Cooks. Knit 1 Blog Too.
NanKnits: January 2008
http://msnanknits.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 13, 2008. I mentioned in the entrelac post that I tend to skip important words in knitting instructions. I find I am better off designing my own, using the template from a published pattern and choosing stitches from a stitch dictionary. What really triggered this scarf designing path I find myself on, was "Leafy Scarf" in Special Little Knits from Just One Skein. First of all, this is a scarf knitted from Malabrigo Alpine Pearl. I am using a "crossed braid" pattern for a nice thick t...

Knitting With Looms
Sunday, August 9, 2015. Purple Pagosa Springs Scarf. I actually finished my second Pagosa Springs scarf (a Dayna Scoles pattern from Etsy) awhile ago - but getting the pictures onto my computer and water marked proves to take longer than the actual loom knitting. Sheesh. I blocked the scarf using an ironing board with a damp towel and an iron and the lacework really opened up and made the scarf large enough for an adult! Will I make this pattern again? Thanks for stopping by. Wednesday, July 8, 2015.
Matt's Knitting Blog
Monday, April 7, 2014. How do you define failure? Failure is when you give up or just accept defeat. Or if you never try, or set out a goal in the first place. If you tried your hardest but you didn't make it, its OK. You can hold your head up high and say I did my every best and I'm proud of myself. How do you define success? I like this picture because that's how we all look when we finish a project and you know its amazing. Its the face of accomplishment. Monday, March 17, 2014. Monday, March 10, 2014.

Friday, July 18, 2008. Where has the time gone? Has it really been. I guess I just spend all my "blogging time" updating Kaylen's blog, so I never get around to posting anything here. Been busy the last two months. I've finished over half of a simple lace shawl (the Invisibility Shawl from Charmed Knits) Unfortunately, I don't have any recent photos. Have a photo of my latest creation though! It's a sewing project! I hardly ever bust out the sewing machine, but I saw this cute pattern and had to make it.
