The principal Vedic gods are said to be 33 in number, namely eight Vasus, eleven Rudras, twelve Adityas, Indra and Prajapathi Brahma. These gods belong to the three regions of the earth (prithvi), the heavens (Dyaus) and the intermediate space (Antariksha). Indra, Varuna, Agni,Rudra, Mitra, Vayu, Surya, Vishnu, Savitr. Pusan, Usha, Soma, Asvins, Maruts, Visvadevas, Vasus, Adityas, Vashista.
