Table Talk | Where religion, politics, and hot button issues are on the table for civil discussion.
Where religion, politics, and hot button issues are on the table for civil discussion. Charity: Are There Strings Attached? December 9, 2012. Recently, the heart-warming interaction. Where is the outrage over the impotence and ineptitude of our social welfare programs that are meant to empower and support our needy and disadvantaged populations but lack the financial resources and political backing to do so? Rather than chastise the shoeless man for his lack of submissive gratitude, perhaps we should foc...

New Webelos
How to Help New Webelo Scouts. This is the time of year when the Webelo Cub Scouts are bridging into Boy Scout troops. Soon, our troop will be getting some new scouts of our own! One of the best ways to make a person feel welcome to a new group of people is to invite them to do things with you. Although often the scouts will be doing things on their own, there are times when you can invite them to have fun! Could be leading the creation of the lashing structure rather than you! In scouting, it's always m...

Kyle's Hollywood Blog
Thursday, May 08, 2014. Last summer, I had an awesome opportunity to work in Las Vegas on a documentary they were filming at EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival). It was one of the crazier things I have ever worked on - but it was a great experience to be behind the scenes of such a large event. The trailer for the movie was just released, so I figured I would share it with you all! Saturday, February 01, 2014. Book of Mormon @ The Pantages. I feel like in some ways I can relate. You will not be disappointed.

The Blank Pages of My Story. As my trip was nearing the end and I was hugging all of my students goodbye I began to be afraid—afraid of my unknown future, afraid that my story would become boring in going back to my regular life in America. But, Kazakhstan changed me. Reading Million Miles. And lots of them!

K-Chuck's Kazakhstan Experience
The life of a Peace Corps volunteer in Kazakhstan. Wednesday, December 1, 2010. It's been 10 days since I arrived in my hometown of Davenport Iowa. Since that time, I've hung out with my brother, mother and father, and celebrated Thanksgiving. And now that my Peace Corps experience has ended it is time to close out this blog. Reflecting on it all. Thinking about Peace Corps, it was something that I needed to do. Or whatever “corps” they’d have when I am 78. And a bit more. I’ve been depressed, conc...

Kyle In Krakow | Where I can mutter a handful of words, and all my friends are leaving me…
Where I can mutter a handful of words, and all my friends are leaving me…. Exactly one year ago today…. September 3, 2014. 8230;I woke up after spending my first night in Krakow. One year ago. I know it’s a cliché but it really does feel like yesterday, and I really wish I could start it all over again. This isn’t the end of the blog. I’ll post pictures here and there with an anecdote or two, mainly for myself rather than for anyone else, and write when I feel compelled to. Thanks Krakow, I miss you.
