Websites to check out. Alan Hirsch: ReJesus: A Wild Messiah for a Missional Church. Walk Thru the Bible: Your Daily Walk. Laquo; Slow Down. Right on time: Happy Christmas! Thanks to Danielle Fullarton for guest writing this thoughtful piece! Carols, nativities, presents, mountains of chocolate, eat-until-you-burst mince pies, tinsel, all in celebration of one thing a child. Jesus did not appear out of the blue proclaiming to be the Son of God, as so many have erroneously done since, but he was brought up...

Websites to check out. Alan Hirsch: ReJesus: A Wild Messiah for a Missional Church. Walk Thru the Bible: Your Daily Walk. Right on time: Happy Christmas! 0160;But here we are, and lovely it is.  Until 5.35am this morning. Because at 5.35am we learned an important lesson: that you can be staying in the nicest place ever, but that if the fire alarm goes off you will still all need to vacate the building into a cold, breezy, west-coast-of-Scotland pre-dawn chill! At just the right time! And so as we celebra...

Leafy Lip Service or Fruit Producing Faith? Given that at Southside we dont have anything official going on this week until a joint service with Ayr Baptist and New Prestwick Baptist on Friday night, I thought that it might be worth offering up a brief reflection each day throughout the course of this Holy Week.

the santa fe trail: June 2006

http://santafetrail.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html

Conversation starters for the journey of faith. Wednesday, June 21. At a youth camp, an enterprising youth pastor came up with the idea of making bracelets with the intials 'WWJD? On them. The "What Would Jesus Do? Idea has since become an enormous success worldwide, with bracelets (and other paraphernalia) available across the english-speaking world. It is practically the standard for moral decision-making in many circles, and young people especially find great comfort and challenge in its simplicity.

the santa fe trail: September 2006

http://santafetrail.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html

Conversation starters for the journey of faith. Wednesday, September 13. The "friend of emergent" logo appears to have disappeared from the internet. It's not on my blog anymore (it used to be on my sidebar) and the html code for it has strangely wiped itself off my template. Seriously. Where once there was a whole line of code there is now just half a line and a gap. Weird. See for yourself: here. Is this sabotage by anti-Emergent types? Or is it a clever trick by the people at Emergent themselves?

Nodrog's Gruntlings: What is Anglicanism?

A whimsical wander through my life, bits of the universe, and everything else that is publishable. Personal reflection, stuff I've read on the web, a bit of theology if you're lucky. And now. periodic updates on my weight! Wednesday, July 23, 2008. A short but hopefully provocative post for my return to blogging. Having been reading all about the Glasgow East by-election, I happened across the BBC's Lambeth Diary. Probably all right. Ish. A bit. We think. Well most of us. Some at least. I include the Cof...

And now. periodic updates on my weight! Monday, November 22, 2010. 15 stone 1 - hurrah! It looks like I've lost 2 pounds of weight. I'm not entirely sure how accurate our scales are (though i do use them on a hard floor) and it depends if I shift my weight on my feet, but it certainly looks like I've lost something. The Magi...

Famously Free n Almost Always Radically Ridiculous: July 2007

Famously Free n Almost Always Radically Ridiculous. The blog of a 20 year old Christ-Follower from Glasgow, Scotland! Thursday, July 26, 2007. Sadly I can no longer deny my obsession with the series so. Will she continue the series? Maybe even just continuing the magical world she has made. I doubt it but really hope she does. What about a MMORG (massively multi player online role playing game) based in the world? Finally how will literature and the world remember Harry Potter? As a legendary series?

Learning to Wait | Sharing my struggles and joys while waiting on God's timing.

Sharing my struggles and joys while waiting on God's timing. I’m a 34-year-old daughter, sister, Military wife, survivor of childhood abuse, child of the living God, soon to be mom, trying to figure out how to navigate through this life while keeping my eyes on the prize of an eternity free of pain and struggles. Past waits that didn’t meet my plans. 1 I waited approximately 4 1/2 years for my neighbor to move away and the childhood abuse I endured at his hands to end. 3 I was 27 before I met my husband.

Websites to check out. Alan Hirsch: ReJesus: A Wild Messiah for a Missional Church. Walk Thru the Bible: Your Daily Walk. One of the amazing things about my job is the privilege that I have of spending time with such a wide range of people.  Almost always this includes praying with people, and today has been no different. When I was thinking about what I would write today I flicked my bible open at John 12.  In the NIV, verses 37-50 are given the heading. The Jews Continue in Their Unbelief. 0160;And eve...

It's Unspeakably Beautiful... Limerick

It's Unspeakably Beautiful. Limerick. Thursday, May 19, 2011. I left my heart in Ireland. When I first came to Ireland I was welcomes with the phrase, "Céad míle fáilte romhat". Now I am back in New York and I long to be back in the Emerald Isle. I don't know what I want to do for school, or for work. I feel as if summer gives me so many goals to pursue, from books to catch up on to things that I want to learn. Words cannot describe how much I want to go back. It was truly the best experience of my life.

One Widow's Journey

Wednesday, October 3, 2012. How Long Have I Been Lost? Have you ever walked through your life and been utterly unaware of changes inside of you? Changes that you didn't notice because just dealing with your everyday life took every bit of your conscious effort? A couple of years ago, I would have adamantly declared that this description had nothing to do with me. I would even have argued the point. But I would have been wrong. When did I see you hungry and feed you? Counting on the Lord to sustain me.

LEARNING TO WALK IN HEELS

Sunday, May 1, 2016. So here we go.31 days of reminding myself that everyone -myself included - is doing the best they can. And following that reminder up with another reminder to offer kindness and compassion and respect instead of being judgy and disconnected. And then following both of those up with an offering of light and love to those who brought me to this point. Myself included. Links to this post. Thursday, April 14, 2016. It's time for another 12 of 12 post! How boring for him. 12 My people&#46...
