Jan and Paul in Spain 2012: June 2012
http://janandpaulinspain2012.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Jan and Paul in Spain 2012. Friday, 29 June 2012. 25 June 2012 - Visit to Zaragoza. We joined a four day coach tour of Zaragoza and Teruel, mainly because of the day spent in the former. The city was the scene of a long and bitter siege during the Napoleonic wars in 1808. This is a period of particular interest to Jan and I, and we hoped to find some reminders of the fighting. The name of this very ordinary looking road is the giveaway. The road system of the city follows the original, and that made it e...

Jan and Paul in Spain 2014: August 2014
http://leniston2014.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Jan and Paul in Spain 2014. Saturday, 23 August 2014. 21 August 2014 – Javea with Jack and Georgia. After a very dry spring and summer it rained the day before they arrived for their two week holiday with us. Not sure whether that is the reason Jan needed a stiff sherry, or whether it was just an excuse to have one. We started our evening in Javea with a meal at Scallops, their favourite eating place. Then it was a short walk to the fun fair, which was the real reason for our visit to Javea. 23 - WW - Va...

Jan and Paul in Spain 2012: February 2012
http://janandpaulinspain2012.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Jan and Paul in Spain 2012. Tuesday, 28 February 2012. 27 Feb 2012 – East Bernia. Due to a variety of medical problems there were only seven of us for this challenging walk. We were lucky with the weather today, warm but with a cool breeze. Just right for tackling Bernia. The first part of the walk is the same as Bernia via the Forat, but we then leave the path and head down hill into the valley. But not for long, we are soon walking uphill again. As we rested we spotted these wild goats. It might well h...

Jan and Paul in Spain 2015: 25 May 2015 – Javea to Portitxol
http://leniston2015.blogspot.com/2015/05/25-may-2015-javea-to-portitxol.html
Jan and Paul in Spain 2015. Friday, 29 May 2015. 25 May 2015 – Javea to Portitxol. We had a good turn out for our last walk before the summer break, possibly encouraged by an invitation to Wendy’s house for an end of season BBQ. This is a lovely walk, as well as being our regular start and end of season walk. The first part is a nice level walk along the beach. However this is followed by a steep climb, without the benefit of a path or track. And watch the locals at play. We also played a knock out footb...

Jan and Paul in Spain 2015: 9 May 2015 – Lliber to Senija
http://leniston2015.blogspot.com/2015/05/9-may-2015-lliber-to-senija.html
Jan and Paul in Spain 2015. Sunday, 10 May 2015. 9 May 2015 – Lliber to Senija. This was our first walk with the CBMW this year. It was a new walk to us, and we were looking forward to finding an alternative route for our regular walk between Lliber and Senija. It was a very hot day and we were not surprised to find a large group of walkers for this relatively easy CBMW walk. There was a little climbing at the start, but would then level out. Instead they had offered a meal after the walk. There were als...

Jan and Paul in Spain 2015: April 2015
http://leniston2015.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Jan and Paul in Spain 2015. Thursday, 30 April 2015. 27 April 2015 – Bolulla Castle. Bright and sunny, but quite cold, as we met at Kilometer Seven on the Castells to Tarbena road. It is often a few degrees colder at Castells than Parcent, and today was no exception. Most arrived in shirt sleeves, but quickly donned jackets or jumpers. Ken and Sylvia joined us again, after a break of two weeks to entertain visitors. They brought our numbers up to a respectable eight. Thanks to David for this one. It was ...
