Letters from the Loux's

Letters from the Loux's. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. This has been one of our best parenting wins yet. These little pieces of paper that I wrote and drew basic drawings with markers! Who would have thunk it? I have been aware of the idea of chore charts for a while now from various mom's groups as well as flipping through Pinterest. I really wish I would have created and implemented. One a long time ago! We don't have to wipe hineys, give baths, blow noses or put their shoes on! They can do it! Back to the...

Letters from the Loux's: Authenticy in Still Lifes

http://lettersfromthelouxs.blogspot.com/2015/04/authenticy-in-still-lifes.html

Letters from the Loux's. Monday, April 6, 2015. Authenticy in Still Lifes. I enjoy photography. I always have. My aqua teenage room was covered in photographs of my family and friends. My friends and I would take turns bringing disposable cameras to take silly pictures at recess in middle school. Those are treasures, let me tell you! As we grow our own family and have the luxury of digital cameras, I am trying to make sure to take pictures of how life really was/is. Because even now, it's fun to look...

Letters from the Loux's. Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Bye Bye Pink Blanket. A few weeks ago Layla had her 4 year old well check up at the pediatrician's office and I brought up my slight concern for Layla still sucking her thumb. The pediatrician suggested we cut out any lovey type item to help with cutting down on the thumb sucking. I made sure that Layla was listening since the doctor,. Not mommy, was saying this. Layla seemed uninterested with the whole matter. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Letters from the Loux's: Easter Egg Snacks

http://lettersfromthelouxs.blogspot.com/2015/03/easter-egg-snacks.html

Letters from the Loux's. Monday, March 16, 2015. A couple of years ago when Layla was about 2 years old, I decided it would be fun to put little snacks in Easter eggs and hide them during her afternoon nap for her to find when she woke up. Now, fast forward a couple of years and add another kiddo and it's still a tradition they so look forward to so I can't stop. They're just so sweet and I love them so. It definitely fills their little buckets. :). Have You Filled a Bucket Today? View my complete profile.

Letters from the Loux's: My favorite C-Section (***third photo may be graphic to some***)

http://lettersfromthelouxs.blogspot.com/2015/04/my-favorite-c-section-third-photo-may.html

Letters from the Loux's. Saturday, April 25, 2015. My favorite C-Section (* *third photo may be graphic to some* *). We have welcomed our third child and second son into our family and are enjoying the new baby snuggles, soft skin, and all around cuteness of having a newborn around once again. I have written about my past c-section birth experiences before and how I struggled with that being the definition of my birthing experience as a mother. So what made this C-section so positive? I was also able to ...

baby boogies: November 2012

http://babyboogies.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Our sweet, but sticky, dance of life. Friday, November 9, 2012. Since it's November (Diabetes Awareness Month) and since I get a lot of questions about it, I thought I'd dedicate another post to Boogie's pump. The questions I get the most are along the lines of "was it a long surgery to get his pump placed? Or "was that something they did in a on office visit? All those devices on such a tiny little bum! I'll start at the pump (the blue thing Boogie is holding) and work our way down. It also acts as a pl...

baby boogies: March 2012

http://babyboogies.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Our sweet, but sticky, dance of life. Thursday, March 22, 2012. Yes, my little man is getting old. I can't believe he's not my little baby anymore. He'll be 21 months on Monday. That just sounds so old. He's a walking, talking, basketball playing, Goldfish eating, snuggle machine! He truly has become a little "man." So handsome! And check out my baby girl! All that wrinkly newborness is gone! Don't worry, I'm not getting baby fever! C-Monk's "Daddy-Daughter Date" kit is all about spending some time in th...

baby boogies: February 2012

http://babyboogies.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Our sweet, but sticky, dance of life. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. At C-Monk's 4 month appointment, the NP gave us the go ahead to try the spoon. Again, we plan to wait till six months before starting solids, but we thought, why not give it a try? Of course, my chunky monkey took to it better than her peanut brother did a first. She got excited at just the sight of the bowl of. Then in went to spoon and mmmmmm. She gobbled it up! J couldn't shovel it in fast enough apparently. I can eat like a big kid too!

baby boogies: August 2011

http://babyboogies.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Our sweet, but sticky, dance of life. Friday, August 26, 2011. Where did August go? I swear this year and thus, this pregnancy, are FLYING by! I feel like we've been really busy these last few weeks, but looking back I'm not really sure what we were so busy doing? I guess it's time to play catch up. Still a work in progress, BUT very, very close to completion! No more tile saw or big tools necessary. Just some grout, caulk, paint and door installation! We WILL finish this weekend! For the most part, this...

Our sweet, but sticky, dance of life. Sunday, June 26, 2011. I'll save the sap. As you know, today is Boogie's first birthday! Don't worry, I'll save the sap. And teary eyed memories; I'll just focus on the amazing weekend we had! The last month has been full of party planning and prep for Boogie's big day! Last week was full of stress and checklists making sure everything would be perfect.and I think it was! It ended up being a beautiful, warm sunny day, perfect for a backyard party! Boogie had a blast:.

http://babyboogies.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Our sweet, but sticky, dance of life. Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Pump, pump, pump it up. It's been awhile since I've updated on this journey. To be honest, there really hasn't been much to update. It's all just become a part of normal life. Boogie's BG (blood glucose) numbers have still been all over the place with no rhyme or reason, but such is the life with diabetes! Well, the time has come and Boogie is officially a pumper! I'm so grateful that the team at Children's Mercy is so 'pro-pump! They m...

baby boogies: July 2011

http://babyboogies.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Our sweet, but sticky, dance of life. Saturday, July 30, 2011. Yes, we had our 3D u/s on Thursday and the tech said definitely a girl! A picture perfect hamburger. I think were her exact words. So, that's a relief! We don't have to return all that pink stuff that's piling up in her room and we don't have to explain to our son why his first u/s pictures say "it's a girl! Just like Boogie, she had her hands up by her face the whole time, which made it hard to get good pictures. And there's so much stuff we...

Letters From The Lions Den. What happens when you take an average Torontonian and enroll him in a Beer School in Berlin? Hopefully, Mark Burnette finds out and makes a reality show based on his life. But until this happens, you have to read this shitty blog. Wednesday, November 15, 2006. So I've decided to abandon this blog and this story (which I've started and not finished at least 15 times now) and start a new blog. You can reach me at. http:/ amidmidlifecrisis.blogspot.com/. Letters From the Loft. Spring: A Walk Around the Farm. Letters from the lunchroom. A family adventure to the country. When I am in the garden picking flowers, I tend to get distracted by the strawberries warming in the sun and eat a few mouthfuls. And then I see beauty like this. My girls are home full time too and not in any camps since mid July. Obviously I was having some crazy parenting lapse when I was planing our summer, so we’ve been doing a lot of this. And a little of this. And some of this. Letters from the Mezzanine

How ‘Kill Move Paradise’s’ Set Reflects Radical Possibilities. A young, black man appears suddenly at the far end of a prism-like corridor, gasping for air. He regains his composure and explores his surroundings. The entire corridor is mirrored except for two long rectangular openings on his left and right. Through these openings he spots the audience, which sits on either side, facing each other, staring into the corridor. He seems simultaneously pleased and uncomfortable to see us there. Even though it...
