JeffLivesHere: Health: April 2006

Thursday, April 20, 2006. I've been thinking about a post about the Fat Acceptance movement for a while now, because there is something that has bothered me about a lot of things associated with that movement. Reading stuff in the Big Fat Carnival makes me feel that now-familar feeling that I must be missing something, that I need to read more about it and listen more to that community, because I must just not get it. But then I read this post over at peggynature's blog. Weight is just as silly as thinki...

JeffLivesHere: Bike Edition: March 2006

Tuesday, March 28, 2006. Sleep In, Dammit. This was one of those rainy mornings I came outside with my bike, my rain-gear on (such as it is), and was thankful that it was pouring. Because at least when it's pouring it's usually a bit warmer *and* then I don't even pretend that I can try to not get soaked- I just dive right in, so to speak, and enjoy the wetness more. JeffLivesHere: Philosophy Edition: April 2006

Friday, April 14, 2006. I've hunted and hunted for the exact quote, but I've lost my "The Myth of Sisyphus" book, so I'll just paraphrase Camus. (I mean, what's the point of being an existentialist philosopher if you don't have people misquoting and oversimplifying your points, really? He notes that it isn't people that are absurd, or the world that is absurd, but our relationship to the world that is absurd. I'm sure Camus had some deep reasons for thinking this (if he did! But the thing is this: This is.

The Report: August 2005

Wednesday, August 31, 2005. It's Just a Bump. Then I come home to check out just what is happening in New Orleans, hearing that things are bad. And man, things are BAD. You know the stories and the news, so I won't repeat them here. This is nothing that I ever thought I'd see in America, for some reason. But, four years ago we all said the same thing about New York, so there you are. By the way, that bump on my arm has disapeared. Posted by spoonturtle37 at 11:24 PM. Like a Chain, or the Cat. Tuesday, June 27, 2006. Burn a Flag a Day. It's amazing that while I'm sitting here trying to (in some sense) defend the Democratic party as the lesser of two evils. That one of its leaders is still spending a good deal of her time on a flag burning amendment. Luckily you can email Feinstein from the bottom of her statment. I can't believe she's spending so much time on this crap when there are so many important things that need to be done. It's infuriating. Well, you can't argue with that! In what may b...

Fear and Loathing in California: March 2005

Fear and Loathing in California. One Woman's Life With "Possiable Endometriosis". Wednesday, March 23, 2005. The truth according to prego the wonder bitch. And her increasingly small crew. Pregnancy is the most beautiful, wonderful and inspiring thing you can ever do? Right, and it is a miracle, and every sperm in sacred. AND YOU GLOW. right. And at 23, in a time where more and more people are decding to wait longer and longer to have kids (or deciding to never have them) I am really alone. I have a cold.

Fear and Loathing in California. One Woman's Life With "Possiable Endometriosis". Sunday, August 14, 2005. I already know the ending It's the part that makes your face implode. I don't know what makes your face implode. But that's the way the movie ends". But cap'n's friends didn't need to be directly invited. they just came. I feel like everyone loved my pregnancy and got scared when I had the baby. Or maybe i just have the "baby blues". Posted by Mrs. L @ 2:47 PM. View my complete profile.
