On Sunday we went to Wings and Wheels (at Dunsfold Park) with my parents (had bought Dad tickets for his birthday present). The weather was brilliant, as were the cars and planes! I was finally able to see the Vulcan fly, and given my links with the RAF, the Tornado GR4 display was one of my favourites. All in all a fab day out, and I'm very tempted to go again next year! This weekend Jake asked Mike to take the stabilisers off his bike, so we took them to the local park as it has a brilliant little "road" area away from the proper cycle paths where kids can practice on their bikes. Like I said earlier, we do have English Heritage membership, so more castle are inevitable I'm afraid! On bank holiday Monday we went to Portchester Castle, which really isn't very far from here. It was a very windy, but very mild day, and although a little cloudy at times, the views were amazing from the top of the Keep. Just a couple of moody castle shots:. About a month ago we met up with our good friends Boj, Lyndsay and Libby (some of you will recognise Boj as one of our best men) and spent an afternoon at Queen Elizabeth country park. Libby is about 18 months younger than Holly and the girls played very nicely together, while Jake wore Mike and Boj out playing footy and rugby :). Fun at the park.

Our love of the New Forest continues, and we recently went for an afternoon stroll through Blackwater Pinetum, a part we hadn't quite explored yet. Last weekend we went to Staunton Live to celebrate our good friend Nic's birthday. We sat on a hill overlooking a lake, in brilliant sunshine, and sang along to Abba classics, played by the tribute band, Abba Magic. It was a great afternoon, which we finished off with dinner in a restaurant, and then birthday cake back at our house. Happy Birthday again Nic!
