Archives 2008 and 2009. The Way I See It. Laquo; burned popcorn smells nasty. Leggings are not pants. December 14, 2009 by melissakae45. I had a very crazy busy fun weekend, but I failed to record any moment of it photographically…. I tend to skim faster through posts without pictures–so I’ll try to be a little more diligent about actually using my camera to document my life. Pictures are my memories. Posted in Random Thoughts. Archives 2008 and 2009. The Way I See It. December 3, 2009 by melissakae45. Time is just a flyin’ by…. Thanksgiving was great (as usual). Hopefully I’ll get a chance to post some pics in the next week or so. I fly out tonight for a conference in Las Vegas tomorrow and then fly back tomorrow night to finish planning and pull off our big ward Christmas dinner and service auction. I’m sure December will just fly by… but hopefully I’ll find time to update…. Posted in Random Thoughts. Remember… this day?

I went to go see this inspiring movie last night and thought it was well casted. Morgan Freeman is fantastic–in almost everything he does–this was no exception. I was reminded that I know so little about history (such recent history! And world events. I was also inspired to find something to read about the life of Nelson Mandela – perhaps his autobiography. Long Walk to Freedom.

Archives 2008 and 2009. The Way I See It. Laquo; Thanksgiving (in review). Burned popcorn smells nasty. December 8, 2009 by melissakae45. I’ve decided that Christmas trees are officially one of the hardest things to photograph… it’s much prettier in real life (plus it smells really good). We’ll say the star is crooked for effect…. Since I didn’t have much luck photographing the tree – I took a couple pictures of my favorite decorations too…. Shelly got me this little olive wood nativity from Israel.

The way I see it…. February 1, 2015. I took the afternoon of MLK day off to join a couple good friends for some quality time and another trip to the beach. This time a little further south in Capitola. We started with lunch at Gayle’s–a bustling deli and bakery with all sorts of delicious looking options. Lunch was followed by a bakery splurge and some hot chocolate, which we took with us down to the beach where we settled into the sand for some sunshine and conversation. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Let’s start with Brene’s definition of love:. 8220;We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness and affection. Love is not something we give or get; it is something we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between tw...

The way I see it…. Book Review: The Hiding Place →. February 15, 2015. I took the second of my letterpress classes this week. Our project was a one color broadside print – a few lines of type and a picture. We spent the first night of class selecting and setting type. The next night we finished setting and locked the type up in the press and mixed this pretty green ink:. I’m hoping to take the last two classes by mid summer and then I have all sorts of projects in mind🙂. September 13, 2015 at 9:29 pm.

The way I see it…. England – Bournemouth. October 18, 2015. My last day we stuck around Bournemouth to take advantage of some sunny weather on the coast. I love these colorful little huts that line the beach – especially the ombre effect. And these blue skies can’t be beat (especially after a couple rainy gray days):. The way I see it…. Book Review: Daring Greatly →. Book Review: The Hiding Place. February 21, 2015. This one was a re-read for me and I loved it just as much the second time through. It’s the story of a Christian Dutch family that is part of the underground in Amsterdam during World War II. They were caught and sent to various Nazi labor camps and concentration camps and Corrie lived to tell the story. 8220;I tried to smile, I struggled to raise my hand. I could not. The way I see it…. Book Review: Daring Greatly. March 8, 2015. I started reading this book a few months ago, but didn’t get very far. Liz Wiseman spoke at our Stake Women’s Conference yesterday morning about ‘Finding Comfort in our Discomfort Zones’ and I’ve been thinking about what we discussed in that session and decided to spend a lovely Sunday afternoon (70 and sunny – in March) out in the sun on my patio soaking up a little more of this book.
