Searching for balance between research, family and life. About Dr. O. On Science and Faith. Rejections, colds, and lonely travel. August 10, 2012. It’s been an action-packed summer for yours truly, and I’ve barely had time to breathe. Apparently aware of this time crunch, Monkey was kind enough to bring home the latest daycare plague and pass it on to me – initiating the worst sinus infection I think I’ve ever experienced. No time to breathe? This entry was posted in illness. August 10, 2012 at 4:34 pm.

I am mother to the bean children: Bean-girl, age seven, and her five-year old sister, the Legume. This is my space- both public and private- to vent, rant, muse, and reflect. Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Good-bye. . . Hello elsewhere. Everything has its season. I started blogging here nearly a lifetime ago in Internet time—2007, several months before my second child, “Legume,” was born. In the past six years, I’ve seen blogs come and go… and sometimes resurrected. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Post doc e...

The Logbook of Lunicrax: January 2014

The Logbook of Lunicrax. In which she reports in highly irregular intervals about stuff going on during her stay in Canada (with a few excursions to other exotic places). Friday, January 10, 2014. Chopin prelude #20 Kung Fu Panda. New short story at LabLit. Well, it's been a while. I officially left my lab two weeks ago. Then spent another week banging out a rough draft of my manuscript, which I just handed in to my (ex)boss this past Monday. I've only just come out of recovery mode. And I have a new short story. Thanks so much, chall!

Sunday, June 21, 2009. So life is pretty much back to normal these days: Hubbys tongue has. Healed completely; Im working hard in the lab as deadlines rapidly. Approach. We didnt get the T-R01 that I had mentioned a while. Back, so funding continues to be precarious. I would be significantly. More upset by that news (utterly crushed, really) if we were still. Planning on having a baby as soon as the funding comes through. As it. Stands now, with nothing more than reliable funding for my project at. Too b...

Aspiring Mommy-Scientist: 32 weeks, 5 days
http://aspiringmommyscientist.blogspot.com/2010/07/32-weeks-5-days.html
Wednesday, July 7, 2010. 32 weeks, 5 days. So with all that taken care of and a couple more people to take up on their offers of hand-me-downs, I think we're pretty set for gear and clothes. Time to start stocking up on diapers and wipes, I guess. I completely forgot to mention a very important point! My project (and in fact, the whole lab) is now completely funded! We got both R-01s renewed, plus I had that other foundation grant I mentioned last fall, so we're all covered now. Whoohoo! Life as I know it.

Aspiring Mommy-Scientist: September 2009
http://aspiringmommyscientist.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 7, 2009. So Ive been thinking about the baby thing again lately. Im. Driving Hubby absolutely nuts with all of my indecision, so he says. Its up to me, just let him know when Ive decided its time. I. Really want it to be now, and Ive pretty much decided we can make the. Daycare thing work out one way or another. Weve got some credit card. Debt that, if paid off, would free up a few hundred dollars a month. Weve got staggered schedules, mine is very flexible, and I could. Been here the l...
