About | musingsfrommelbourne

Just another WordPress.com site. There was a lot of waiting to be done and again, words came to the rescue. Always with a newspaper or novel in hand, I could distract my active mind from whatever it was that I was waiting for. Cryptic crosswords had always been an interest but now I was devouring them to the point that I entered a competition while in hospital and won myself a digital camera! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. How to save a life – bone marrow donation made simple | musingsfrommelbourne

https://musingsfrommelbourne.wordpress.com/2011/06/02/70

Just another WordPress.com site. A bad hair day like no other. How to save a life – bone marrow donation made simple. June 2, 2011. My sister saved my life once. She didn’t do anything dangerous or even risky. She says she didn’t go through any pain, it was more like discomfort. My sister saved my life by giving me some of her bone marrow. In the Australian film. So, what does a bone marrow donor have to go through? I was surprised by how easy it all was. The doctors said I might feel unwell or tired...

Just another WordPress.com site. Our immigrants work hard for multiculturalism →. May 26, 2011. It is jarring to hear the word ‘cripple’ coming from the lips of the attractive 48-year-old lawyer sitting opposite me. That’s what I am, says Ruth Groen quietly, but I’m lucky, I am lucky, she adds as she recounts another chapter of a life all too familiar with grief. Arents and Marija was blasted into the water but managed to survive the accident, also suffering severe injuries to her legs.

Just another WordPress.com site. Other reading →. Our immigrants work hard for multiculturalism. May 26, 2011. Was he simply lazy or being defiant? Or maybe he was a new immigrant from a country where urinating in public is perfectly normal. The Japanese art of flower-arranging. But they couldn’t contain their disdain for Westerners blowing their nose in public, a practice not used in Japan where sniffing or spitting is the norm. Luckily mine was a temporary assignment and not a lifetime commitme...You a...

Cllr Tristan Osborne - Musings from Aylesford and Medway

Friday, 20 February 2015. Education must be a priority. When I speak to local parents, one of the most pressing concerns I hear is whether their child is getting the best education possible. To do this we have to ensure that our children are receiving the high-quality teaching they deserve in a stable environment. Yesterday, the three Medway constituencies welcomed our Shadow education secretary Tristram Hunt, who met with concerned parents, teachers and young people from across the three seats. Unlike t...

musings from Melba Street

Musings from Melba Street. Sunday, July 05, 2015. There was no blogging for several years. It is now July, 2015. My last blog was in 2013. So much has happened. I've been too busy to blog. There seems to be a theme in my life. It is, "Shit Happens". For some unknown reason, I am experiencing one of every delay and disaster type. My life reads like a cheap novel. We are now permanently out of each other's life. This is a tragedy, but I know it will never improve. I am not sure. Does that complete the list?

musingsfrommelody | Living and learning from experience

Living and learning from experience. I had taken two courses based on Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way that had helped me open up creatively. It was because of the experiences of sharing with the other creative spirits in the classes that I finally gathered up my courage shook off some of my insecurities and inherent shyness to put me out there in my writing. It has been at times harrowing and at other times very satisfying. As far and as high as you can. Or jump if you must. You can reach your goals.

musingsfrommeredith | I'm just a girl…in the world

I'm just a girl…in the world. December 2, 2016. So TONIGHT I had the best girls night… with my daughter. She’s so beautiful and perfect and funny and silly and she just makes my life so much better. Better than I could have ever imagined. I don’t want to be a smug bitch and tell those without children or those about to have children that “they’ll understand later” because that doesn’t do anything except for like make their blood boil. True The above photo is true. November 19, 2016. I talked a little bit...

Musings from Miklagard

Thursday, December 26, 2013. Driving along the Silk Road. We drove from Gazientep into the ancient Mespotamia, crossing the Euphrates river twice. Am on the Euphrates river was completed in 1990, is said to be one of the biggest dams in the world. It was built to generate electricity and to irrigate the plains in the region. The water flow in the Euphrates river is very irregular and used to cause big problems with drought in the summer and flooding in the winter. A gigantic mountain for a gigantic ego.
