Musings from Mexico

My sometimes enchanted and sometimes not - now defunct blog about living in Mexico City and traveling in Latin America. I write about the crazy stuff that happens to me; on my bike, out on the town and wherever I travel. Somehow, I try to tie it all back to the music I love for your reading and listening enjoyment!

Music bikes. travel. politics. life. sf. photos. (depends on my mood). Thursday, August 14, 2008. My Skyline commute was punctuated by a puncture on 35 by the Olympic Golf Course. Unfortunately, my cry "flat" fell on deaf ears ahead of me, thus stranding me sans pump. I remembered my spare tubular tire, but in switching bikes, I forgot to take my little repair bag. Music bikes. travel. politics. life. sf. photos. (depends on my mood). Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Two weeks ago, I underwent successful ACL and meniscus repair surgery with Dr. Ma at UCSF's Orthopedic Clinic in San Francisco. Sonia took me to the clinic at 8am. When we arrived, they immediately prepared me for surgery. The staff was friendly, professional and everyone seemed calm. They let her in while prepped me for surgery feeding an IV into my arm. It had been since the 1980's or, "the dark ages of ...

Life has been hectic, but wonderful, since moving to San Francisco last year. I may have left Washington, but DC hasn't left me. Cllr Tristan Osborne - Musings from Aylesford and Medway

Friday, 20 February 2015. Education must be a priority. When I speak to local parents, one of the most pressing concerns I hear is whether their child is getting the best education possible. To do this we have to ensure that our children are receiving the high-quality teaching they deserve in a stable environment. Yesterday, the three Medway constituencies welcomed our Shadow education secretary Tristram Hunt, who met with concerned parents, teachers and young people from across the three seats. Unlike t...

musings from Melba Street

Musings from Melba Street. Sunday, July 05, 2015. There was no blogging for several years. It is now July, 2015. My last blog was in 2013. So much has happened. I've been too busy to blog. There seems to be a theme in my life. It is, "Shit Happens". For some unknown reason, I am experiencing one of every delay and disaster type. My life reads like a cheap novel. We are now permanently out of each other's life. This is a tragedy, but I know it will never improve. I am not sure. Does that complete the list?

musingsfrommelody | Living and learning from experience

Living and learning from experience. I had taken two courses based on Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way that had helped me open up creatively. It was because of the experiences of sharing with the other creative spirits in the classes that I finally gathered up my courage shook off some of my insecurities and inherent shyness to put me out there in my writing. It has been at times harrowing and at other times very satisfying. As far and as high as you can. Or jump if you must. You can reach your goals.

Friday, March 15, 2013. Right after I posted my last blog a month ago Henri was sick for a week, then I was sick with the genuine Influenza for almost two weeks. In that time we also had four snow days! I always love a good snow day. It took us a while after all that to feel back to normal. For me, for us, it feels worth the struggle to figure it out. To keep trying, sometimes poorly, sometimes with a successful balance, to live a part of our life outside of ourselves. Posted by Anna Casey. We started of...
