Musings from my journey. The diagnosis (from Feb 2014). September 24, 2014. I didn’t cry until the surgeon told me that I would need a mastectomy. I couldn’t believe there was a lump at first. I googled ‘breast lumps’ and the information I took was not to worry; that most lumps in the breast are nothing; that women approaching menopause often get lumps, etc etc. I then looked up the government’s free Breastscreen service.
