What's going on in my life and my head! Who covets more, is evermore a slave. Robert Herrick. Friday, September 5, 2014. Clayton is turning 2 today and I made him a little book so he can practice different words. All it took was a few magazines and photos, colored card stock, and clear contact paper. I almost hate to give it away! House Mailbox. Tree. People. Big red barn. Cow. Chick. Egg. Goat. Piggies. Bunny. Birds and animals. (Bad pic; the book is nicer.). Balls (Don't google this.). What's going on in my life and my head! Who covets more, is evermore a slave. Robert Herrick. Friday, February 20, 2015. Some Fruits of Enjoying Family History Work. One of my volunteer jobs is working in the Silverdale Family History Lab for a 4-hour shift each Tuesday. Some days there are a number of visitors needing attention and some days my companion, Ann, and I don't see another soul darken the doorway. This gives me plenty of time to work on my own family puzzles. And there you have it. This w...

What's going on in my life and my head! Who covets more, is evermore a slave. Robert Herrick. Friday, December 21, 2012. As Christmas approaches, I have been thinking about traditions our family has created and carried on. There aren't many, it seems, and yet- there are. I find the music of the season really enjoyable, so have attended a number of musical events. Fortunately we still have children in school bands and such. And I must say, a college concert is fantastic! In the past we have made special t...

What's going on in my life and my head! Who covets more, is evermore a slave. Robert Herrick. Friday, August 10, 2012. Restaurant Review: Bremerton Bar and Grill. I am branching out in the blog-o-sphere and describing my experience in local eateries. The weather was lovely and it was pretty perfect, except for the speaker right next to our table blaring out songs of the '80s. Yuck. A server brought water and took our drink orders as we perused the menu. Eventually our food came, and it was well-presented...

Lorraine's Leanings: Vermiculture

http://lorrainesleanings.blogspot.com/2014/07/vermiculture.html

What's going on in my life and my head! Who covets more, is evermore a slave. Robert Herrick. Monday, July 28, 2014. My 5-year-old granddaughter was lamenting our family's lack of animals: “What happened to your kitty? 8221; “Where did the chickens go? 8221; “You mean you don't have ANY animals anymore? 8221; "No, none, Sweetie." But, alas, I forgot to tell her about the WORM BIN. For over a year and a half I have had a worm bin so that we can transmorph (is that a word? Place food scraps at bottom of yo...

Lorraine's Leanings: Brownie in a Mug

http://lorrainesleanings.blogspot.com/2014/09/brownie-in-mug.html

What's going on in my life and my head! Who covets more, is evermore a slave. Robert Herrick. Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Brownie in a Mug. Today I was not sugar-free. I try to be most days, and I succeed quite often. But not today. After my work and chores for today I felt like a treat, and of course we had none. I didn't feel like making a big to-do so I settled on our son Justin's desperate measure: Brownie in a Mug. Justin has since changed the recipe, but I find this one satisfactory. Microwave fo...

What's going on in my life and my head! Who covets more, is evermore a slave. Robert Herrick. Sunday, July 6, 2014. Well, Allan and I did it again- we participated in our second pioneer trek as a ma and pa. We got matched up with really great kids, and every one of us came through it just fine. Here are some photos courtesy of our Trek Photographer Eric Morgensen. Note that we walked to our bus pickup place along the Seattle waterfront. Tourists were taking photos! Labels: back to basics. Lorraine's Leanings: November 2012

http://lorrainesleanings.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

What's going on in my life and my head! Who covets more, is evermore a slave. Robert Herrick. Sunday, November 11, 2012. I don't go to the mall very often. Why, you ask? Well, I don't usually buy much, or at least not there. But this past Friday a young friend and I wanted to spend some time together, and she felt like getting a little Christmas shopping done, so off we went. Thanks Silverdale Chamber of Commerce for the photo. Oh, well, off to dinner. I suppose the moral of the story is that I know mate...

March 19, 2015. I saw a recipe for Shepherds pie in a cookbook the other day and thought I would give it a try. I changed some of the ingredients just a bit bus basically followed the recipe. The original recipe called for ground lamb, I’ve never tried and changed to all ground chuck instead of a mix of lamb and beef. I also used mixed frozen vegetables instead of carrots and green beans. 1 1/2 pounds potatoes, peel, quarter. 1/2 can chick peas. 2 pounds ground beef. 1 teaspoon ground coriander. Brown gr...
