This customer requested that I use variegated thread for the quilting. I wasn't sure I liked variegated thread until I started this beauty! I may have to make my own black quilt just so I can use this amazing tread! It is called Tie Dye by Superior Threads. For the solid blocks, she let me do what ever I wanted :). It urned out so fun! A maiden hair fern.

Stitches and Sew Forth. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. January 2015 Mystery Quilt. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the back of all of the 4 inch squares. Line two of these squares on a 7 ½ inch square as illustrated. Sew a scant ¼ inch on each side of the line. Cut on the line and press the triangles back. Place a 4 inch square on the corner of each of the resulting halves as illustrated. Sew ¼ inch on both sides of the line. Cut on the line and press the triangle back. Links to this post.

I decided to try laying out the quilt as per Marie Henry's sashing instructions, and this cute little quilt really came to life - I tried to fight the on-point layout, but in the end, it really worked for what I want to do! Stitches and Sew Forth. Friday, August 28, 2015. You could do almost anything with this beautiful collection of fabrics and it would turn out well. I think Becky's creation hits the mark. Get ready to create some half square triangles! Follow the directions for cutting in the pattern. To create the half square triangles match two of the squares with right sides together. (Try for a little contrast between the fabrics.) Draw a diagonal line on the back of one of the fabrics. Press the triangles open.

If you are needing a quilt for Christmas gift-giving, this one fits the bill. The quilt is quick and simple but the results are amazing - a perfect blend of modern and vintage. Not sure the tutorial will be needed for this one but here we go:. Cut out five of the flower shapes from the blue medallion fabric. Create 4 sashing sets.

Finally I have assembled enough blocks that I think can be turned into a single bed size quilt. 35 crumb blocks and 24 setting blocks are done and ready to be joined together. I laid them out on the empty apartment floor and moved them around, trying to get a balance of color without getting the same fabrics in nearby blocks. Saturday, April 1, 2017. Last summer, my husband became the part-time pastor of a small church in a small town about an hour from our home. He spends a couple of days here during the week and then we're both here Friday through Sunday. We have house-sitters in our house in town while we're here. However, if he's using every inch of the kitchen table, I can't use it as a cutting or ironing area. I can set up one of those mini ironing boards on the kitchen counter and that works pretty well.
